Durban – Sharks prop Jannie du Plessis will appear before a SANZAR judicial officer in Bloemfontein on Thursday after being cited for dangerous play following Saturday’s Super 14 match against the Reds in Durban.Du Plessis was cited for allegedly striking Reds hooker Sean Hardman with the head and also for entering a ruck in a dangerous manner.
Du Plessis’s hearing will take place at the offices of the Free State Rugby Union at 10:00.

Once again the Northern Hemisphere has taken the initiative and proposed a possible match up of the Heineken Cup winners versus the Super 14 winners.
In an article in today’s Australian, Wayne Smith reports that there is an English proposal to stage the long-proposed “battle of the hemispheres”, the Super 14 champions against the Heineken Cup winners, is likely to be considered by SANZAR.
We moved over the halfway mark of the 2010 Super 14 season. Sadly the injury toll affects certain teams severely. This thread deals with the casualties the various teams have. I am sure this list is not complete but add the ones i missed and we will update it.

International rugby is really squaring up to a North vs. South battle between the hemispheres, as to who gets to harvest the financial returns or not.
The next 5 years will be particularly challenging for the SANZAR countries in spite of them occupying the top three slots of the IRB international rankings, with little financial returns.
