While SANZAR ponders whether any steps should be taken against Stormers captain Schalk Burger and coach Allister Coetzee, statistics have been released that reveal just how silly they were for criticising match referee Craig Joubert.

So we were beaten, by the team that adopted the best strategy for the day. Congratulations to all my fellow bloggers who happen to be Bulls. Be sure that this isn’t the end of the rivalry, and the Stormers will come again, stronger, better prepared, and more experienced.

One day to go before the Super 14 Final… and all rugby News is bland compared to the expectations we all hold for the Final.
One feels that tension is mounting but that many are too closed-lipped for fear of having too much egg on their faces after the Final.
The New Zealand Prime Minister, John Keys, was questioned today by media in Auckland about the growing controversy over former All Black Haden’s claims that the Crusaders have a policy of limiting the number of Polynesian players in their teams to just three. Continue reading

Finally, the EPIC Final South Africans have been waiting for! North vs South, Good vs Evil, Bulls vs Stormers!
To make predictions for this final is not easy, here’s how I approach the subject….
The Daily Telegraph reports as follows:
COACH Robbie Deans has chosen five uncapped frontrowers in his 30-man Wallabies squad for next month’s inbound Tests against Fiji, England and Ireland.
The squad includes Queensland Reds props Laurie Weeks and Ben Daley and Brumbies prop Salesi Ma’afu, all yet to play a Test.
You just knew I had to get my two cents worth before arguably the greatest North / South Derby to ever hit the world. But the Final isn’t all that’s weighing on my mind, I have quite a bit of other matters that need to be unearthed. So, keeping that in mind, this article will take no prisoners, if you are squeamish, don’t read it…this article is entirely my own view, and not necessarily that of anyone involved with Rugby-Talk.com.

Leading Vodacom Bulls try scorer, Gerhard van den Heever, is back in the side that will take on the Stormers in the final of the Super 14 competition in Soweto on Saturday.
Van den Heever served a two week suspension due to a dangerous tackle and missed the semi-final clash against the Crusaders at the same venue last week and is the only change in the team from that game.

For years the Sharks have lead South African rugby, if not world rugby, in the way they market their brand and team oozing success at all levels, but it seems to me that lately they are doing their level best to destroy all this. Continue reading
“It’s a Super 14 final between South African teams and whatever comes with that – vuvuzelas and the excitement – has to be embraced,” said Stormers coach Allister Coetzee.
‘Gore Them!” The legend was in Afrikaans but for those unable to decipher the language, the caricature of a raging bull was a dead giveaway. This was not a message of goodwill.
Impressive. Awesome. And just a little foreboding. Watching the Bulls pick apart the crumbling Crusaders with ruthless efficiency in the early hours of Sunday, it was hard not to feel humbled and slightly horrified.
Order in the rugby world has been restored, and thank goodness for that! Continue reading
