This is a follow up on our birthday boy, Isigidi’s (hope at least YOU scored last night) Article, “The areas of concern”. Let me give you my scores/views on your concerns:
France took on the Springboks at the Stadium Municipal, Toulouse, France, in the 1st Test for the Bokke on their 2009 End of Year Tour. France won a needly match by 20 / 13.
Seeing that it’s my birthday and that I’m going to miss the game tonight, I thought I’ll give you a few of my thoughts about tonight’s game before I go out on the town with my gorgeous girlfriend.
Southern Hemisphere’s 2 elite Teams, New Zealand and South Africa are playing Italy and France respectively. Whereas it seems that even a 2nd-best All Blacks side will still be too strong for Italy, the same cannot be said about SA Vs France.
There is no doubt the book written by Bok skipper John Smit has and will cause quite a stir, but maybe its good for the truth to be told.
The article is courtecy of News24. Continue reading
Congratulations to the Australian Rugby Union – who against all odds, have managed (read carefully and meticulously choreographed) to bring the 15th Super Rugby franchise to Melbourne, especially when the ARU has 80,000 registered rugby players and SA Rugby over 500,000, over 5 times the number of players in Australia.
London – The International Rugby Board (IRB) has announced a crackdown on scrum infringements and illegal tackles ahead of this weekend’s internationals.
Springbok enforcer Bakkies Botha feels what happens on the field has nothing to do with his personal life and that people often get carried away by calling him “violent”. Continue reading

Bloemfontein – The decision by SANZAR to award the 15th franchise to Melbourne in the expanded Super Rugby series from 2011 spells danger for the Lions and Cheetahs. Continue reading
Statement released by the Minsitry of Sport and Recreation :
Argentina have chosen a monster forwards pack against England for their clash at Twickenham on Saturday but have been hit hard by injuries in the backline.
The Bok-motivation is high!
The Bokke want this one!
The Bokke do not underestimate the French!
These 3 small statements says it all. We are in for an almighty scrap against France.
The All Blacks are using Italy to blood a few players with Bay of Plenty pivot Mike Delany being one of three new caps named in Graham Henry’s All Blacks side that will face Italy at the San Siro Stadium in Milan on Saturday. Continue reading
Not a lot of change for the Wallabies with the only change to the team that beat England last weekend being David Pocock replacing George Smith in the starting line-up to play Ireland at Croke Park on Sunday. George moves back to the bench. Continue reading
Dan Carter gets to sit out the Italy game for his tackle on Martin Roberts. The judge was easily convinced there was no malice in the tackle, impressed by Carter’s spotless record, forthrightness in regards to the matter & apology to Roberts immediately after the game. Carter waived the right to appeal the ban wanting to simply put the entire unpleasant episode behind him and as much as Warren Gatland will wail & flail – the matter is now closed.

The Springbok starting XV to face France in Toulouse on Friday shows four changes from the run-on XV that did duty in the Boks’ final Vodacom Tri-Nations encounter against the All Blacks in Hamilton in September. Continue reading
One game Pieter de Villiers must win for us and his ever improving coaching CV is the game against France. For years the French were just also ran’s against SA but if you break up the results against us you will find that they dominate the last decade against us. The last Springbok side to win in France was in 1997 when the team, under Nick Mallet, outplayed the French 52-10 in Paris.
Oud-Bok John Knox sterf aan kanker
Die voormalige Springbok-rugbyspeler John Knox (55) is Vrydagaand oorlede.
In an Extraordinary General Council Meeting of SARU on Monday, they unanimously approved the adoption of a new constitution and the winding up of SA Rugby (Pty) Ltd as the final step in a process to unify the professional and amateur arms of the organisation. This has been talked about and on the cards for quite a while.
France will rely on a heavyweight backrow to try and contain world champions South Africa in their Test in Toulouse on Friday. Continue reading
The Springboks are at last choosing more experienced forwards for their tough tour in the Northern Hemisphere, with a player like CJ who is well experienced and used to the conditions up North, he is also joined by Wian Du Preez and Hooker Adriaan Strauss Continue reading
Rumours are flying that the “Meyer of Pretoria”, Heyneke Meyer, is in advanced negotiations with the Bulls to be back at the Bulls in the next few days, possibly next week already.
Sadness for some and joy for others as Beast Mtawarira , Wian du Preez and Adriaan Strauss joins the Springboks, and injured Chiliboy Ralepelle and Gurthro Steenkamp head home after being injured during the Springbok opening match.
I sit and read day in and day out how comments are made by us, as spectators on various blogs etc, even reading articles by so called Sports Journalists on other sites.
We all have points of view which are our god given right, at the same time we should not take notice of racist or trouble maker posts made as they have other agenda’s and are not posting for the sake of a wonderful sport but self fulfilment. Continue reading
The All Blacks kicked off their Northern Hemisphere Tour with a Test against Wales. The All Blacks won a generally scrappy affair which only really only came alive in the last 20 minutes. The All Blacks won 19 / 12.
The Wallabies kicked off their Northern Hemisphere Tour with a Test against England. England started well, the forwards doing the hard yards, but the Wallabies gained momentum and eventually ran out winners by 18 / 9.
One of the icons of South African rugby is becoming a political pawn. Pressure has been applied on SA Rugby to withdraw Tendai “The Beast” Mtawarira from the Springbok squad because he’s not in possession of a South African passport.
Tonight saw the 1st match on Tour for the Springboks End of Year Tour 2009. The Springboks took on the Leicester Tigers at Welford Road. The Tigers were full value for their win by 22 / 17 against a lack-lustre Bokke side which was scrummed to bits and taught a lesson in forward domination.
It is good to be able to have a united SA Nation again after the division of the Currie Cup. Our blood all turn to green every time that the Bokke pull those magnificent jerseys over their heads, our hearts swell with pride…. we expect nothing less than for the Bokke to win.. and win well.
The Wallabies have been undercooked this season, but so has England. This will be an interesting tussle.
Southern Hemisphere pitted against Northern Hemisphere again, like every end of the year… and every year we see the Southern Hemisphere batter the Northern Hemisphere. Will this year be different?
Aaron Mauger will lead out Leicester Tigers for the historic match against South Africa at Welford Road on Friday evening. Continue reading
