Richie McCaw the 28-year-old AB Captain is the recipient for the IRB’s prestigious Player of the Year award straight after leading his side to a comprehensive 39-12 victory over France at the Stade Velodrome in Marseille today where he earned his 80th test cap (43rd as Captain) against the French. McCaw having also won IRB player of the year in 2006 is only player ever to have been honoured twice.

Wales took on the Wallabies at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff, Wales tonight. The Wallabies won handsomely, 33 / 12.
Scotland took on Argentina at Murrayfield, Edinburgh today. Argentina won by 9 / 6.

Robbie Deans, Wallabie coach, has announced the Australian team to face Wales at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday.
Coach Peter de Villiers and the selectors have made six changes, including two positional, to the Springbok starting XV that faced Italy last week for Saturday’s final test of 2009 at Croke Park in Dublin against Ireland.
New Zealand coach, Graham Henry, has made three changes to his team to play France at the Stade Velodrome on Saturday.
It is now official that the Lions players mentioned will be playing for the Sharks.
