Coaches should know everything, right? And shouldn’t the players do what the coach wants without question? No, I disagree. I think that the players should know more than the coach and that they should be making the decisions. Here’s why……
This goes out to a bloke called Rudi……..apparently, anyway. She desperately searches for him in the audience, but, alas.

The 2nd Cricket ODI between England and South Africa (2 of 5), played at The Rose Bowl, Southampton – 28 August 2012 – day/night (50-over match).
South Africa won by 80 runs.
We were asked the question – So what is a full house, about 40,000 or so? Lets be generous and call it roughly 70% empty. Even Newlands in Cape Town is nowhere near full for Currie Cup matches, yet all the big stadiums are near full house for Super Sugby, so back to my question, any theories on why this apparent lack of interest in Currie Cup matches?
My thoughts are as follows. Add yours!
England and the South African Proteas did battle in the 3rd Test of the Series in England at Lords, London, UK.
South Africa won in fine style by 51 runs, having steemed a spirited England fight on Day 5
For my 2 cents worth, I thought this was a good game from South Africa without it being a commanding one.
Only the 4th match into the Heyneke Meyer era, and after a very long and hard Super Rugby season, the number of injuries, the tiredness of the Sharks players in the Springboks and the short preparation time, these are all contributing factors that will always make the early games in The Rugby Championships seem a bit loose.
This was also very evident in the Australian Wallabies vs New Zealand All blacks match where a number of balls were spilled, knock-on’s, errors, etc was the prevailing trend.
This will improve, and I expect to see a much better performance in the next set of matches.
I have penned my feelings, lets open the debate and have your reactions to the match.
With all the focus the start of the Rugby Championship this weekend, not much thought has been given to another small matter starting today. Cricket. If SA draw or win at Lords they go to No.1 spot in the world. But England, as we all know by now are in turmoil over the KP issue. So on the eve of the match, a lighter look at the KP issue.

It was with many emotions that I left England more than 3 weeks ago. Although it was common knowledge that Lord’s was going to be my last Test match, this injury brought that about earlier and I left England suddenly for an uncertain future regarding my health.
I came across this article, and thought it was so well written, that I would post it. It’s not about rugby, but enjoy anyway.
Who is the best coach in world cricket? Nobody knows for sure, but he was born in Cape Town, batted left-handed and very determinedly in Tests, is 44 years old and will be a prominent figure at the Lord’s decider next Thursday.
DHL Western Province centre Juan de Jongh has been called up to the Springbok squad in the place of the injured JP Pietersen.
