    Just returned from the funeral.

Usually my pet hate about funerals is the fact that the service does not do justice or dedicate enough time in remembering and celebrating the life of the person whose funeral it is. Often the sermon is aimed at scaring or trying to scare the heeby jeebies out of those present to change their ways, whilst the deceased is just a side entry…

Today was different though, a true dedication to the person and her life… a giving of thanks, a celebration of a life lived well and dedicated to her children.

The speech to thank people was spot-on and long, without being too elaborate or boring at all. The speech about the life of the lady and what her life was about, also spot-on!

The DVD which we made and played in rememberance contained 86 photo slides and 2 POWERFUL songs (one dedicated to the life she led and one to give thanks by the children to their mother for everything she did and meant to them), once again it was spot-on.

The emotions in church flowed freely, with tearful eyes from young and old, male and female.

It was good, sad, a celebration, a dedication… and a farewell.
