The Wallabies are set to face one of their own at Twickenham after Nick Cummins agreed to wear the black and white of the Barbarians against Australia in November.
Little more than two months after he left Australia for Japan’s Top League, Cummins has agreed to play for the invitational side in the November 1 fixture that kicks off the Wallabies five-week spring tour of Europe, his manager said.
smh
The cameo appearance will be possible because the Top League breaks in late October while Japan plays a domestic Test series.
Cummins, who has played 15 Tests in the gold jersey, joined the Coca Cola Red West Sparks after playing his final match for the Western Force in Super Rugby in July.
It is understood the Force are keen on luring him back to Australia next season. The terms or length of his deal in Japan are not known.
It will be the first time the Wallabies and Barbarians have met since 2011, when Australia smashed the Graham Henry-coached side 60-11.
Easy for me to talk but what has always intrigued me is the “weird/strange/comical/stressfull”
