The Sharks will probably have to do without the services of Johann Muller for their final tour match against the wellington Hurricanes.Although it has not been confirmed if he would be fit to play or not, One cannot seem him playing with what seems to be a broken finger.
Here is a picture of Johann Muller’s hand sporting a broken finger for his troubles and having had to spend the night in Hospital, less than ideal!Just boarded flight to Wellington, last week! http://yfrog.com/iyjzsj 2:24 PM Mar 20th via Tweetie ( thanks to John Smits snippets on Twitter). His place in the starting line up will probably be taken by Alsitair Hargreaves with Wilhelm Steenkamp comming onto the bench.
Will keep you informed on any further news that may arise.
I really feel for the Sharks supporters and players. It is bad enough to have to fight back from where they were with a full strength team. To lose one of the seniors and leaders in the squad makes it even worse.
Johann is actualy starting to play some good rugby again , but i feel the youngsters must start taking over,
either steenkamp or hargreaves to start etc
neither will let the team down
Hiyas bluebeard , yeah its tough but hey it is part of the game,
good to see the bulls still going strong , i feel to much of the defence is being shouted about
The Bulls will do what they need to , i also feel the Canes were kept in the game by Walsh, they lay on the wrong side and slowed ball down at every ruck
Does this mean we are never getting Steenkamp back? You okes already look at him as if he is yours!
lol for now he is 😆 but as far as i know yes he will be going back after the Super 14
having played for the sharks this super 14 he cant now play for anyone else
Bluebeard you know when the blokes pulled that nice black and white jersey over his shoulders , maybe he wants to keep it on 😆
3 Sharky-forever
You said it about Walsh. If I as a Bulls supporter say it the okes, especially the jokers on Voldy, reckon I’m full of it. I reckon the Canes took aleaf out of the Stormers defence book with slowing ball down at the tackle. It is going to be crucial for us to have a decent ref come 15 May.
Have you also noticed how there has been a total relaxation of the rules back towards 2009 interpretations in the past few weeks and especially by certain refs like Walsh and Mark Lawrence specifically?
yes bluebeard i have
look i know one tries not to harp on refferies a lot , lord knows us Sharks have had our share in loads
But when one watches one must always try be unbiased in view
and i watched the Bulls game , and wanted to murder walsh and i aint a bulls supporter as you know
I think the oke was prolly still drunk , lol
In my mind there is one game where we can say we got thumped , and the ref did not play a part , and that was against the saders
and last weekend a good kiwi ref for a change , was good to see , hope he stays that way
I don’t think it’s so much the jersey as the lifestyle that will hijack him. Must say it is hard to resist, even for an ‘ou bul’ like me. I’d be permanently out of the office if I were to stay down there- out deepsea fishing. But then again, the business opportunities come so much easier up here!
the bulls however did butcher many chances they had , and it was also one of morne’s poorer games in a long time , just proving he is human afterall lol
lol bluebeard mate this is true , one gets used to the ocean , and hard to leave it behind
8/9 Sharky, I agree about that ref vs the Saders- I think they said he is a medical doctor, Brown his surname if I am correct. I really rated him.
As for Walsh, no wonder experienced captains start shouting at these okes. The poor players have to adapt to new interpretations every week. It’s enough to get to anyone.
this is true
anyhows our hopes are on the bulls and stormers this year so support we will all the way
12 Sharky, I felt Morne was a bit below par in his general play. Could’vre been to do with pressure transfered from the front.
I also reckon Spies has a tactical shortcoming in his game. He is so focused on the tight stuff now that he doesn’t cover on the inside of his 7 from phase play. The Landers and the Canes exploited this with a lot of success. See Dagg’s second try vs Bulls, eg. Also his control behin the scrums is atrocious, especially under pressure. Will still cost Bulls dearly. Kanko for the Sharks is too focused on playing out wide. Not doing the hard graft. Between the two of them they are leaving the door open for Duanne Vermeulen to impress.
I see SA Rugby.com are raving over Juan Smith’s game Saterday. I found him to be absent and/or anonymous for the most part. I don’t think the new rule interprets quite suit him. If you starve him of ball to carry he disappears, which was part of the Stormers plan vs the Cheetahs. He did make a couple of tacklesthough, but nowhere near his game vs the Canes.
I also think the Bulls must be carefull how they manage the rotation of Stegmann and Kuun. Steggies looked a bit ring rusty to begin with, and I must say Kuun is holding his own. He sees to have a better appreciation of space and a bit more vision on the attack. Steggies = a little bit more ‘kop af en dryf!’
That’s just my take on things.
blue i agree fully , like kanko spies is a superstar out wide,Its the tight play where they seem to get lost
actually id change the Sharks loose trio
8 Alberts
7 kanko
6 Deysel
Agreed again
pottie will regain his form , he to a little rusty after being injured,
but its stegmann who is playing silly rugga
i have said this many a time before , brussow plays smart rugby whilst stegmann plays stupid rugby
both good players , but look see who does the smart things , many bulls supporters have gotten angry with me for saying it , but its how i see it
to me thats why brussow is so much better then stegmann
18 Sharky- I agree about Brussow vs Steggies- think Kuun will eventually win that battle between the two Bulls 6’s.
I hear Potties did an ankle 20 minutes into the game. But I think he was hugely influentual on defence and on the carry, just getting the Bulls over the advantage line with every carry. Bulls had 42 tackles to make of which Potties made 10. Not bad for a guy coming off a serious injury.
