Van Jaarsveld’s contract at the Cheetahs was also recently extended until 2016.

The Cheetahs have also added another exciting backline player to their stocks after securing the services of Pumas fullback Coenie van Wyk.

The Cheetahs start their Currie Cup campaign away to the Pumas in Nelspruit on 9 August.

Rory Duncan (head coach), Franco Smith (backline coach) and Os du Randt (forwards coach) will be in charge of the team with Super Rugby head coach Naka Drotské sent overseas to learn new coaching methods.
