In 2012 during the Six Nations Parks announced that he was retiring from Test rugby but continued to play for Cardiff Blues in the Pro 12.

Last season he moved to Ireland and played for Connacht also in the Pro 12.

“I feel incredibly fortunate to have been able to play a sport which I love for over 11 years as a professional,” Parks said.

“My time over here in Scotland, Wales and Ireland has been the best years of my life, and I would like to thank all those who have contributed and helped me along this amazing journey.”

“Of course, my highlight was being able to wear the blue of Scotland, and something I will forever treasure and hold very close to my heart.”

One Response to Scottish Rugby: Dan Parks retires

Beat me to it. All the best to Dan Parks was a good player who could dictate play with the boot, don’t think he was always appreciated as much as he should have by some fans here, in some quarters he had to get man of match performances each time he played to jusity his pick.
