Jake WhiteJake White has sprung a few surprises for the Cell C Sharks clash against the ever improving Crusaders in Christchurch, this coming weekend.

SP Marais gets a rare start in his favoured position of fullback, with Lwazi Mvovo reverting back to wing where he is more accustomed to playing. Out of the match 23 goes Odwa Ndugane and in comes Tim Swiel as cover for flyhalf, on the bench.

The biggest change however is amongst the forwards where Ryan Kankowski and Keegan Daniel both drop to the bench, with Etienne Oosthuizen and Tera Mtembu getting a start. Willem Alberts will start in his 3rd position for the season, having played Lock and blindside flank previously and now completing the loose trio as No 8.

Cell C Sharks 15 SP Marais, 14 JP Pietersen, 13 S’bura Sithole, 12 Paul Jordaan, 11 Lwazi Mvovo, 10 Francois Steyn, 9 Cobus Reinach, 8 Willem Alberts, 7 Jean Deysel, 6 Tera Mtembu, 5 Stephan Lewies, 4 Etienne Oosthuizen, 3 Jannie du Plessis, 2 Bismarck du Plessis (Captain), 1 Tendai Mtawarira
Replacements: 16 Kyle Cooper, 17 Dale Chadwick, 18 Lourens Adriaanse, 19 Ryan Kankowski, 20 Keegan Daniel, 21 Charl McLeod, 22 Tim Swiel, 23 Heimar Williams.

    30 @ Puma:
Add Beast there he also needs a rest.

I agree with you re the resting. I know it would have seemed almost defeatist from Jake to have rested those guys, but the bigger picture is more important.
I do think that this is just about the strongest Shark side of the last couple of weeks, especially the back line, but away in Christchurch against a team like the Crusaders, I doubt if any of our franchises at their best will be good enough to win

Saders are playing just brilliant right now. I said a few weeks back it was the Saders everyone should watch out for after their tour here. Sure they never had strong teams to play here but they were on a roll after that. I think they will reach the final and win it. Most of their last games are on home soil and only the Chiefs to play I think, just think they will beat the Chiefs as well.

Okay Nortie out of here now. Going to eat dinner now. Will catch up for the live match tomorrow. Not even sure who is playing tomorrow. Have not looked at the blog all week except for this one yesterday and the Sharks official website to see who was selected for the game on Saturday.

    Cheers boet.
