Pieter-Steph du ToitCell C SharksPieter-Steph du Toit underwent a scan to his knee yesterday with the disappointing news that he sustained an ACL injury and will be out for the remainder of the year.

Sharks website release

The young lock sustained the injury to his anterior cruciate ligament at training on Thursday and the bad news was confirmed when he went for a scan later in the day to determine the extent of that injury to the knee ligaments.

His place in the starting line-up was confirmed yesterday, Stephan Lewies shifts from the bench to take over from du Toit, while his replacement on the bench has not been confirmed as yet.

No, I did not… but I guess he had a full go?
He was after all once beaten by a cyclist in a race between Buckingham palace and Heathrow during peak hours while he was driving a Ferrari or something

Hammond was on the bike, May in the car, Stig on public transport and Clarkson was in a boat on the Thames

    @ nortierd:

All right… i thought Jeremy was in the car.

I am not a real fan of his show but watched a few.

I enjoyed the one during which Rowan Atkinson did the very fast lap.

Btw.. Bluebird (carol) who also blogs here and her husband are his neighbours in the Cotswold where he has a farm.

Cool, shame Carol back the Stormers today, sadly she fell a bit.
I see she also went for the Cheetahs and Lions, risky at best, so she has a lot of confidence in the SAFFA sides

    @ nortierd:

Blame her trust in SAFFA sides on her love for percy M Wink

Cheetahs have zero change and Lions about 30% imo.

I stopped doing the Bru… not nice to follow your head if it involves the Stormers.

We know the state of the rugby in the Cape, from the board to AC to the poor squad and team, so it’s easy to know they won’t be winning to many.
Doesn’t make it easier, but facts are facts.
I can’t remember when last we had such a poor selection of players to select from, and the less said about AC and his “help” the better

    @ nortierd:

I have “backed” AC for quite a while but had enough.

It’s not only the coaching, its also the bad recruiting…. and the inability to see that in order to win a major competition a team needs world class halfbacks… Grant/Katrakilles/Schreuder are not even close to world class.

If a disastrous tour is what is needed to force AC and co to resign, then so be it.

Yep, most of us feel that way.
I’m just not convinced that even a wooden spoon will be enough for them to admit they are wrong and out of their depth.
As long as Newlands is full, hey will celebrate their success.
Our best youngsters end up at the Sharks and Bulls, so the dregs that no one wanted get to play for us, hardly inspiring.
I envy the Sharks with the way they went about things from last year, and the worst is their coach and CEO was better than our by a country mile, yet they shafted them and got better people in
