Lions head coach Johan Ackermann has announced his first Super Rugby side to take on the Cheetahs in the South African Super Rugby opener on Saturday.
The team features 6 Super Rugby debutants namely Chrysander Botha, Marnitz Boshoff, Franco Mostert, Julian Redelinghuys, Robbie Coetzee and Schalk van der Merwe and is captained by Warren Whiteley.

Come boys, make me proud.
WOW! What a blend of youth, experience, power and skill. This Lions team is superior to the Cheetahs team in every position. I fully expect the Lions to snot klap the Cheetahs by 18 to 25 points.
