“We are planning on bidding to again host the World Cup in South Africa in 2023,” Roux told Volksblad.
The last World Cup South Africa hosted was in 1995, which was also the first World Cup win for South Africa beating the All Blacks 15-12 in the final.
Considering the upgrades of stadiums for the 2010 soccer World Cup, a rugby World Cup would be hosted quite easily.
The next world cup is in 2015 and will be hosted by England, and in 2019 the tournament will be hosted by Japan.
