Breaking news on the BBC is that England coach, Martin Johnson, has resigned.

Johnson seems to be unhappy with the RFU’s post Rugby World Cup 2011 review and has resigned as a consequence. A press conference will be held later this afternoon.

More to follow.

Now if only a certain other coach, whose team never made it past the 1/4 finals, would do the same.

No Loosehead, he has a vision hehehehe

was the RFU not already getting cv’s in for a new coach? or do I have it wrong?
    I would then also resign

Fire the coach that brings home the world cup

will probably rehire the coach that could not even take us to the semi’s, ok ok it was not all his fault, Oom Bryce also had a hand in our demise!

He didn’t really stand a chance, someone had to be the scapegoat, and he knew that at the end of the enquiry that it would be him, so he did the honourable thing and left with some dignity intact. P Divvy, I hope you read this comment!

In my opinion he was never the right coach for England. he was too close to many of the players having played with them. The army in the UK has a policy, when a guy gets promoted he gets moved to another Regiment…there is a good reason for it. Johnsons decision making was biased on emotional grounds….not the way to go for sure. Also not many of the really great players has ever been a good coach….probably an ego thing or seperating the two thought processes. Johnson didn’t get the best out of his players, their behaviour at the world cup demonstrated this, so one must question his people skills. Divvy by all accounts from the Boks themselves was absolutely great on the personal and loyalty side….I think his problem was taking the step up, like lots of other people.

7@ P Divvy:Life is like a box of chocolates. When the top layer is finished, just rip through the fragile division, and start again before they all melt. Just to keep you in the loop, the boks have all moved down to the Falkland Islands for the next 4 years, as they feel that it is away from family, friends, fans and journo’s and they will be able to knuckle down to some serious training for the next world cup, where they too, want to be judged. I have in my possession a first class ticket out there (the last one before they shut down the airport for refurbishment for, believe it or not, the next 4 years), which I would love to give to you as I now realise how wrong I was and how good you really are. By the way, when you get there, if you don’t recognise any of the players, don’t worry, they are all disguised as shepherds just in case any journo’s have, per chance, decided to holiday on the beautiful islands. Your first job will be to round them all up and then to get that brilliant training regime up and running. They won’t speak english or afrikaans, but they will respond to sign language – they have agreed that the secret recognition sign will be the middle finger – use it judiciously. Good Luck, and don’t call us, we’ll call you.

I’m bit upset that England coach Martin Johnson has resigned. I reckon he was such a talented coach for England team so far. Thanks mate for this info.
