The New Zealand Rugby Union is already inviting applications for All Blacks coach, though Rugby World Cup-winning head coach Graham Henry remains tight-lipped about his future.

Henry’s contract has expired after Sunday’s World Cup final victory over France and his current assistant, Steve Hansen, is seen as the leading candidate to take over.

But in the days before the World Cup final the 65-year-old Henry refused to discuss his future plans, raising doubts about whether he favors an immediate succession.

Rugby union chief executive Steve Tew said invitations to apply for the job had been sent to prospective candidates.

Now here lies the difference between SARU and the NZRU…

Graham Henry has not even resigned yet, is the current Rugby World Cup Champion coach, yet the NZRU is being pro-active already inviting candidates to apply for the position as head coach.

Now compare that to the SA situation… Snormonster’s contract expires end of the year, yet SARU has not even got a list of prospective coaches to send application forms to.

It’s probably why John, Rassie, Alaister, Jake, etc. have turned down the Bok job – just been waiting for the NZ post to open!!!!!

    @ grootblousmile:
GBS, why don’t you apply for the Bok job? With all the other candidates having turned it down, you may be their only applicant and so win it by default!
