That would be a great turn around. Shows it pays to build a team , rather than buying STARS.

Watching this games , o well the 1 and a half i watched, it is a fact that the big names like Jaque Fourie, Habana , Jean de Villiers are not irreplaceable, there is young players more hungry and with new vigor

    @ Puma:
Hi Puma, sorry a bit distracted watching a programme about Spitfires! There is a woman flying one, If I could fly a Spitfire I would lean to fly.

One comes over our farm quite often and it sounds absoultley fantastic!

Well rugby is pretty much over for us so we need other distractions!

  • 228

And we have the best bunch of no 10,s imaginable.
Jantjies , Goosen, Lambie , Ebberson and the reigning king Morne Steyn. Yes Morne is still right up there, you read it here first, watch him.
I am hesitant to put Catrakilis in the list above , either AC or he killed of the backline of WP

    @ Blue Bird:
Hey girl, sorry for not saying hi, i missed your entry. But i am so busy with the Nursery i bare do rugby-talking. I should have done what i am doing 20 years back, i just love the sore hands , back all for my passion of gardening. Photos were taken from the start and i will publish it somewhere when the finished product is there.

    227 @ Blue Bird:
If I have it correct, the Spitfire runs with a Rolls Royce engine.

They do sound quite magnificent, don’t they!

    @ grootblousmile:
Earlier this year we had a Air show at the Air force base here and there was 5 flying over us doing their show, man it is just brilliant. The Harley Davidson of aircraft.

Have you ever seen a fighter scramble up close there from Hoedspruit Air Base?

I had the opportunity to see one from inside the Control Tower… in 1985.

They scrambled a number of Cheetah Fighters from the underground bunkers.

Was also flown around there in an Alloette Helicopter, up to Mariepskop and all over, inspecting the Air Defence positions… hell the pilot even did a stall-turn with us in the heli…

during the local school rugby week we , the coaches and sponsors were taken on a heli trip, all the way down the Blyde River Canyon , up to Burkes Luck, down to the base of a waterfall(had me struggling to keep my camera dry) did flip overs and all. Naughty pilots and young rugby coaches ….. they normally dont do tricks with civilians on board.

nie seker waarvan jy praat nie , is dit n skyn geveg. Indien so ja, terwyl ek besig was om n trop olifante te bewonder. Moerse show.

Well done Leeutjies!!!!! And there they beat the star studded ‘springbok’ side!!!!

And all the deserters, Jacques Fourie etc could not do anything….what an amazing game it was!!!

I am fully behind the Lions to take the Currie Cup!

Do think the sharks will put up more of a fight then the Wiepeenouweer did!!!!
