Superbru, GBS opens the gap at the top by another 0.5 points

  • 152

In the last 6N match Ireland just scraped through in the dying minutes by a penalty or drop.

    @ Loosehead:
You will get 1.5 points, like GBS who also had them at 16

    Final Score: Italy 27 / 10 USA

Guess my Bru is happy… I picked Italy by 16 and the winning margin was 17

Italy will be better against Ireland as they just need to win and won’t be having to score 4 tries or any tries for that matter. The tight game revolving around their scrum is Italy’s strong point and if they focus more on their defense, they stand a chance of pulling it off.

  • 157

I’m afraid, Ireland will convincingly beat Italy

  • 158

Well we must hope for Italy to help us, maybe Mallet can eventually do something for us. If Italy win without a bonuspoint we might miss Australia in the 1/4 final

  • 159

So, 3 sides are on their way home….

Namibia, Japan, USA…. their 4 games done and dusted

    @ superBul:
It’s going to be tough for Italy to win this one, but not as impossible as some here think.

    Interesting angle Naas Botha takes….

He says he would rather get the Wallabies in the quarters, to get one of the BIG sides out of the race before the final.

Italy are a bit like France in the sense that they can play great one week and then poor the next. So they may just produce a blinder against Ireland…

    @ grootblousmile:
Must say I agree with naas there. I don’t mind the Boks playing Oz. I feel confident that we’ll nail them.

    Eternal optimist!

    Hehehe

I just think Ireland is one of the form teams… and they scrum well. Their backs will be all over Italy.

An Irishman was terribly overweight, so his doctor put him on a diet.

‘I want you to eat regularly for two days, then skip a day, then eat
regularly again for two days then skip a day. Repeat this procedure for two
weeks. The next time I see you, you should have lost at least 2½
    kilograms.’

When the Irishman returned, he shocked the doctor by having lost nearly 25
    kilograms!

‘Why, that’s amazing!’ the doctor said, ‘Did you follow my instructions?’

    The Irishman nodded.

‘I’ll tell you though, by jaesuz, I t’aut I were going to drop dead on dat
    third day.’

‘From the hunger, you mean?’ asked the doctor.

    ‘No, from the bloody skippin’.

Australia’s most celebrated referee Stuart Dickinson has announced his retirement, effectively immediately, at the age of 43.

According to the Australian Rugby website, Dickinson was in charge of an Australian record 47 Test matches after controlling his first international in 1997 when Tahiti played Papua New Guinea in a Rugby World Cup qualifier.

He went on to referee at the highest level of the game for 15 seasons, officiating at three Rugby World Cup tournaments – the 1999 event in Wales, 2003 in Australia and 2007 in France.

    Joost no better, no worse

Pretoria – Former Springbok Joost van der Westhuizen says his condition has neither improved nor deteriorated after undergoing experimental stem cell treatment last month for a fatal motor neuron disease.

Van der Westhuizen, 40, said in an interview on Talk Radio 702 on Tuesday that he was enjoying some “alone time” in Dubai, where he was working, but he appreciated the support he had received in South Africa.

  • 171

    @ superBul:
Would be a great medical advance if Joost can beat this dreadful disease. The prognosis at the moment for this disease is unfortunately very bleak. It’s basically a death sentence, so I am really holding thumbs for Joost. Was always a great fan of the player and if science can conquer this disease, it will mean a lot for many other terrible afflictions.
    Vasbyt Joost. Stay stong bru!
