The Crusaders will play Super 15 rugby matches next season in their hometown of Christchurch but not at their regular home ground.

The Crusaders’ regular home ground, the 40,000-seat AMI Stadium which was formerly Lancaster Park, was severely damaged by the Feb. 22 quakes and at least one of its grandstands will be demolished.

The Christchurch City Council says it will spend $1 million ($830,000) upgrading Rugby League Park in the city’s southwest to accommodate the Crusaders.

Both of the stadium’s grandstands were damaged by the earthquake but temporary seating will be erected for more than 18,000 fans.

The Crusaders played home matches last season at five venues, including London’s Twickenham.

WTF. Share with those mud eating bottom dwellers that have no wing forwards. Rather play in Fiji.
