The Currie Cup promotion / relegation match between Boland and the Pumas took place today at Boland Park, Wellington. Boland won the match by a whisker, 36 / 35.
The match and the other relegation match showed that there is not much between the bottom 2 Currie Cup Premier Division sides and the top 2 sides in the Currie Cup First Division.
The match see-sawed with both teams leading from time to time, the Boland snatching their narrow win close to full-time.
The stand-out player for Boland was Zandré Jordaan, who also scored a brace of tries.
The stand-out player for the Pumas was Allister Ketteldas, who also crossed the try-line twice.

20 – GBS. I watched that game again today and feel the same as when I watched it in 1981. That was no penalty at the end. Should have ended in a draw. Would have been a series draw to Boks in NZ.
Those flour bombs just kept coming down. Now I can have a laugh at it but at the time it looked dreadful for both Boks and ABs to be playing in it.
Also looking at the players then. Don’t think any went to the gym. They all looked like so thin and no muscle..haha.
@puma did you notice almost no scrum resets and colapses
