Not too bad, this team. Lets hope they can build on the momentum gained in the last 5 games in Super Rugby.
Jip, looks pretty solid all round. Just the lock dept that still needs improvement. What is up with David de Villiers, injured?
@ Cheetah4eva:
For me the MASSIVE problem is at 10.
With both Butch and Jantjies with the Boks, it leaves a huge hole.
There is no doubt that Burton Francis has some potential, but in those tight games I feel he won’t be able to dictate the flow of a game, and that
@ Scrumdown:
FFS, finger trouble!
that will put the Lions defence under pressure.
As you point out, the lack of a “real” lock is problematic. Both vd Merwe and v Heerden are retreaded loose forwards, and the last thing ANY team needs is to be having 50/50 possession from your own line-out.
All in all though it’s not a bad squad, but I still have my doubts about the mental state of the players with all of the nonsense going on at the Union.
Let’s see come Friday evening!
But it als good to see Joe Snyman in the mix, and we also have David De Villiers and David Bullbring in the greater squad. Does anyone know what has happened to Wouter Moore? He had a few games, but seems to have lost flavour.
