No really. It sucks. I thought the WP jersey look terrible with that yellow blob on it, but this?! Now let’s see, first the Stormers had this jersey:
Andrew Aitken – Photo Carl Fourie
Then it changed to this Black jersey to appeal to a wider audience (an excellent change, might I add)
Then they changed it to this Navy Blue jersey
Not such a huge change, quite subtle actually but a change nonetheless. In walks DHL, and Wallop!
This almost takes us back to the 1998 disaster! Really….I wouldn’t even warm up in that thing….talking about warmup, look what I found! The Stormers warm up jersey!
Hmmmm…did someone get paid for their creativity? Look, I’ll say this, the warm up jersey looks way better. But if you removed the Vodacom and put in a yellow and red DHL, I would throw up again.
Why not just use the WP jersey completely? This thing looks like an extinct Kwagga!!
Huh?
DHL, I am not Happy! Hopefully our season won’t nosedive like this DHL truck!
Hey, did you see that?
I might now know where they got the shi(r)t idea from!
Just look at your nearest DHL package.
See the stripes below the logo?
And please, can someone tell thse players to at least tuck in their shirts!!
Sex appeal….
According to the Stormers website, part of what makes the Stormers different is Sex Appeal….
“Being and looking sexy has always been very much a part of the Stormers appeal. The Stormers were fortunate in that many of their players’ talents stretched beyond the fact that they could deliver on the field of play. They had looks, personality and charm that brought their marketing campaigns to life and gave the fans another reason to go to the game.
From the outset, the players and the management bought into the Stormers brand and marketing strategy and it has reaped huge rewards for all.”
Urgh!!! Really!? Sex Appeal? With that jersey? I don’t think so…Anyway, I don’t care about sex appeal, I care about results!!
So what now? The DHL Stormers Express! Excellence. Simply Delivered? With a dash of sex appeal.
I agree fully!
Seems that a couple of “yellow” sponsors DHL & MTN) coupled with traditional team colours(Lions Red & White & WP/Stormers Blue & White) that just don’t mix makes for a nauseous experience.
What next, a BIG red ABSA logo on the Bok’s green jersey when at home, and an “Italy blue” Barclays logo on the green jersey when in the UK?
Never mind the DHL yuck thing. The jersey looks like a prison uniform.
Thought for the day!
Nobody teaches volcanoes to erupt;
Tsunamis to arise;
Hurricanes to sway around;
No one is taught how to choose a wife;
Natural disasters just happen.
Hey, maybe that’s what this jersey is, a natural disaster.
Nah, it’s just a disaster.
Perhaps it was designed with reverse pshycology (spelling?) in mind.
If all the stormers players think they look like plonkers, maybe they’ll get so worked up that they’ll raise their game an extra 15%.
Jean de Villiers could look good in a bin bag! 8)
Beats the ‘Mr Price’ on the Sharks jersey!!
Dit lyk sommer nou lekker SUPERKAK!!!!!!!!
So, dit pas by die nuwe SUPERKAK 15 (aka Aussie Curriebeker).
Nes my geliefde WP trui…
Mooi so DHL en WP Rugby. Julle het julle eie naam nou lekker gat gemaak! Hahahahahahaha!
Soooooo Quiet here this morning.
No night owls on RT?
In 2 weekends the REAL RUGGER starts people. Time to get blogging.
WAKE UP, IT’S A BEAUTIFUL JHB MORNING!
@scrumdown what is beutifull about gomorra?
ok, my take on the jersey of the dhl stormers … i honestly dont believe its as ugly as made out to be … but that left there
..
i wonder what the reaction wouldve been if the jersey according to all the fashion experts on here were “better looking”?
..
maybe then we wouldve heard things like:
“a nice looking jersey wont win you a super title”
or
“the stormers have obviously given up on ever winning a super title and have now gone with the intent of at least being the best looking superteam”? etc etc etc
..
hmmmm,
in elk geval lyk daai jersey veel beter as daai kotsblou vannie bulle!! 😀
thought of the day
(from penguins of madagascar)
“just smile and wave people, just smile and wave” 😀

Ashley, why change the jersey AT ALL? At the very most they should just have replaced the Vodacom on the previous jersey with DHL. The could maintain the style of the DHL and put it in white. (Red is in any event more difficult to read, especially on a blue or yellow background) They teach us when doing presentations not to use red in your text as it hurts the eyes. That is what this jersey is doing to my eyes. And its embarassing….from Luke the Puke to this!
I love it!
17@ Morné:
So much for your sense of STYLE….
Who dresses you, your wife?
Hahaha
@ grootblousmile:
Forget who dresses me, when a couple of rugby guys start debating ‘style’ I get worried!
19@ Morné:
That is a different matter…. I worry about most Rugby-Talkers….
Hahaha

Got into the at about 03h30, not a soul on the road, no rain (for a change) there was a nice bite in the air that numbed the face on the bike, and a weekend at Sol Kerzner’s Glitter Pit to look forward to for the rest of the weekend.
How can it not have been a beautiful JHB morning.
As for JHB being Gommorah, well I guess everyone has to have an opinion on everything, otherwise the World would be a very dull place.
You see, most people who haven’t grown up in a city like JHB just wouldn’t survive here. Things have to happen and happen fast.
When you grow up in a Rat Race, it becomes a part of you, a bit like Rugby and Motor Cycles. Once you’ve had them in your life, you’re addicted.
The crime in JHB is no worse than any large city in the world, (and I’ve been to a few) and decidedly better than many. Stick to the right areas, act in a sensible manner and you shouldn’t become a victim.
The only other City in SA that I could live in is MAYBE Pretoria. (With Bloem’ a close second.)
Cape Town, Durban, PE (are there any other cities?) are just not for me I’m afraid.
So there you are, everyone to their own I’m afraid.
@scrumdown that’just it i grew up in the eastrand and lived there for 15 years my hang outs was bellanapoli and the doors luckely i wised up and moved so as far as gomorra goes been there done that got the teeshirt and gave it back.the rand will be a nature,s paridice if all the buildings were not there
@scrumdown grew up on a katana 1100 striker then a yamaha fj 1100 and then a blade currently bikeless but will get one again i guess a gs1200 or a africa twin, bloem is a graet city to live in i studied there and currently lives about 200 km from there
Yellow and red extremely bad taste
Stormers camp clearly has a leadership problem. I liked the idea of getting a new Stormers jersey but that ‘yellow and red’ simply pathetic.
Must be one of the worst starts for the team that specialises in pre-season promises.
