The Vodacom Bulls will continue to play matches in stadiums built for the 2010 Soccer World Cup in South Africa.

According to the CEO of the Blue Bulls Company, Barend van Graan, a decision has been taken that the BBC and the Bulls will utilise opportunities to play matches in those stadiums as their own home base, Loftus Versfeld, benefitted tremendously during the hosting of the world event.
“Loftus was upgraded to the tune of many millions of rands and we also hosted matches. We decided after that that we will avail our teams to play at other venues as well.”
Van Graan made the statement at the official announcement of the warm-up match between the Vodacom Bulls and a Premier XV, to be played at Nelspruit’s Mbombela Stadium on February 5th.
This will be the first time the Bulls will play at this venue, although the Blue Bulls side played in a Currie Cup match against the Pumas at the same venue last year.
“We will also take our Vodacom Cup match against the EP Kings to the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane,” Van Graan said.
The Bulls already made history in 2010 when they played their semifinal and final of the Super 14 competition at Soweto’s Orlando Stadium.
Van Graan also expressed his gratitude to all involved in the match against the Premier XV.
“We would like to thank all involved, especially match promoter Willem Strauss and the Pumas Rugby Union for this opportunity to bring the Bulls to the Lowveld.”
Bulls loose forward Dewald Potgieter echoed Van Graan’s sentiments.
“We will love to play in front of our fans in the Lowveld. It is not often that one gets the opportunity to play out here and we are looking forward to play in this iconic stadium.”
Strauss said that tickets for the match are already available at all Computicket venues.
“We are expecting a bumper crowd and have arranged a full day of festivities for all spectators. We want to make this a unique day for the whole family,” Strauss said.
