  The jubilation in England’s dug-out was unbridled. They really really do care about winning everything at the moment. All that talk about the Ashes not being the be-all-and-end-all, it’s actually possible to believe it.
  Wow. That was epic. That is England’s eighth successive Twenty20 victory, which is a new record for the format, and they are also unbeaten in all formats for 16 series and counting, regardless of what happens in the second match on Friday.
  Spare a thought for poor Watto – 59 from 31 balls and 4 for 15, and he still couldn’t finish on the right side. It’s not been his season, clearly.

  Toss: No surprises there – Smith has won, Dhoni has lost. Cape Town was an aberration. No surprises in Smith’s call either – South Africa will bat.
  Smith says his wrist is holding up well. Imran Tahir, Faf du Plessis and Robin Petersen are not playing, so it is just Botha on spin duty.
  Dhoni reiterates that batting will be tough initially while chasing. He wants his young side to “confuse the selectors a bit” leading up to the World Cup. “Piyush, Ashwin, Sreesanth and one more guy is not playing,” he says with a sheepish smile. Captains, these days!

  We have 4 wickets in hand and now with 30 balls left Johann(doos) Botha wants to play a captains innings. Moer the farking thing you arse, Steyn might just hit a quick 20 and so too Tsotsi….. We play like deers in a head bloody light…..
