The 4 matches to be played are:

- Platinum Leopards vs Barloworld Toyota Pumas – Friday 3 September 2010 at 19:00

GWK Griquas vs Vodacom Free State Cheetahs:
The Griquas host the Cheetahs at GWK Park, Kimberley on Friday 3 September 2010 at 17:00 SA Time. Pity that the match is not broadcast live on TV in SA, it is only streamed live on SuperSport.com, which stream is only accessible to DSTV subscribers.
Griquas will be a tough nut to crack in Kimberley but have suffered a few losses recently.
Bjorn Basson on left wing is their go-to man with no less than 4 tries for him last week against the Sharks and a hattrick of tries the week before. This man has become a try-scoring machine.
The Cheetahs have just come off a marvelous win over WP and must be brimming with confidence. They often impress against the other big unions and consider the Currie Cup as their prime competition in the year.
It is difficult to make a prediction for this game but I will opt to go for the team who demolished WP last week…. Cheetahs by 10.

Platinum Leopards vs Barloworld Toyota Pumas:
Both the Leopards and Pumas have showed some amazing grit and determination this season, although in patches.
The Leopards ran the Bulls close, whereas the Pumas have just come off a dogged win over the Bulls this past weekend.
I predict a Pumas win, even if on Leopards home soil… Pumas by 10.

Xerox Lions vs Vodacom Western Province:
The Lions host WP at the Coke-Tin on Friday 3 September 2010 at 19:10. This game is broadcast live on DSTV in SA.
The Lions MUST be boyed by the fact that they have now secured the services of John Mitchell for 3 years as well as having just come off 3 consecutive wins.
The team is definately on the improve and some players are sticking their hands up big time… Elton Jantjies and Jaco Taute more so than some others.
WP have now lost 2 on the trot, and badly so and will be desperate to revive their season.
They are still 2nd on the Currie Cup Log though and have looked invincible at times early in the Currie Cup season.
I think that although the Lions are on the improve, a game against No 1 or 2 on the Log might still be a bridge too far at the moment, so I predict a WP win, away from home….. WP by 10.

Vodacom Blue Bulls vs Sharks:
The Blue Bulls host the Sharks on 4 September 2010 at Loftus and at 19:15 SA Time. The match is broadcast live on DSTV in SA.
What a wonderful match under normal circumstances, pity it will not be attended by too many spectators, due to the Springbok Test just prior to this match.
These 2 rivals will go toe to toe, not an inch given.
The Blue Bulls have been shoddy and less than perfect to say the least in this competition this year, but they are a proud bunch and current Currie Cup and Super 14 champs, so one expects them to be better than they are at present.
The Sharks are a finely tuned machine at the moment, topping the Log with quite some distance between them and the rest.
They have named a very strong unit to take the field and often do very well at Loftus.
I predict a win away from home for the high-riding Sharks….. Sharks by 10.
