Another 4 head to head games are in the offing this weekend in the Currie Cup Premier Division.
They are:
Friday 13 Auust 2010:
- GWK Griquas vs Barloworld Toyota Pumas – GWK Park, Kimberley at 19:00 SA Time

GWK Griquas vs Barloworld Toyota Pumas:
Griquas have just come off a very disasterous loss against WP and will be smarting. This will mean one thing and that is that they will be desperate and ready to dish out a world of hurt on the Pumas.
The Pumas on the other hand are battling in the lower end of the Log and will be equally desperate to show that they should not be below the Top Six in the competition.
I predict that the Griquas will take this one…. Kwas by 10.

Platinum Leopards vs Sharks:
After a very gutsy showing, the Platinum Leopards have stated that they want to beat one of the big Unions and are targeting the Sharks to do just that at Royal Bafokeng Stadium. Some injuries this week and the possibility that Michael Bondesio might not start the match or last the game is a serious setback to their cause though.
The Sharks on the other hand played a wonderfully balanced and controlling game against the Lions last week and will want to continue their dominance against the Leopards… and they have the ammo to do it.
I predict a good fight by the Leopards but the Sharks to pull out all the stops and bury the Leopards… Sharks by 20 PLUS.

Xerox Lions vs Vodacom Free State Cheetahs:
Under John Mitchell the Lions have looked a better defensive team as well as a team with more cohesion. The question though is, is that enough against the Cheetahs. Currently the Lions are on a measly 1 win from 5 attempts in the Competition and they ran out of puff against the Sharks last week.
The Cheetahs on the other hand needs to stay with the big boys in the Competition and will want to cement a spot in the TOP 4 this week. They have to do without Juan Smith, their inspirational leader though. Exciting youngsters like Coenie Ooosthuizen and WP Nel are sticking their hands up high in the competition though and at fullback Hennie Daniller has been a rock.
I predict another bridge too far for the Lions…. Cheetahs by 15.

Vodacom Western Province vs Vodacom Blue Bulls:
Folks, this is the clash of the weekend!
WP will be licking their lips to destroy the Bulls, their arch enemies from up North and this time they might be in the position to do it, considering their form in this Competition. Still unbeaten after 5 great weeks.
They have just beaten the Griquas at Kimberley with a massive score and will be full of confidence.
The Blue Bulls on the other hand have just scraped through a win against the Leopards, having shown some disinterest and shoddy defence and something is just not clicking, one feels.
The Blue Bulls have had the wood over WP in recent years though and have opted for a stronger front row than the week before and they have the added benefit of the return of Zane Kirchner and Dewald Potgieter from National duty.
I predict a hard game and I predict that WP will win this one….. WP by 10.

Your picks are very close to my Predictions…..
Sad but true…
I’m afraid the predictions at least as far as the winning teams are spot on…
Still waiting for the finalised WP team though…
O, I see F.Louw is playing, is it sorted now ?
@ grootblousmile:
My Pa is n’ blou bul supporter
Blou maak my naar.
Ligblou maak my vreksiek.
Al die storie boeke war ek as kind gelees het, het n’ blou bul rugby speler in gehad wat n’ private eye is. dit was indoktrinasie.
Steve hofmeyer
die liedjie liefling.
Naas Botha.
Daai blou bul liedjie. “ek skree nie blou bul nie, dit maak my naar….”
Net n’ paar om oor te herkou.
8@ biltongbek:
Klink vir my maar net of jy ‘n probleem het met jou spastiese slukderm…. daar’s pille vir naargeit…
Jy’t dalk nog ‘n ROOI infeksie of ‘n uiters sensitiewe gestel…
Hehehe
Daar is net een staat..
🙂
🙂
🙂
en dis die Vrystaat!!!!
The question is, would the Bulls manage to get any log point out of this game? And will WP score a 4 try bonus point?
@ grootblousmile:
jy’s dalk reg, ek sit nou al n’ week met n’ stywe nek, en ek was die anderdag vertel hoekom.
Dit gebeur blykbaar as jy n’ Viagra te stadig sluk
And how will Kwas come back from last weeks thrashing? It would be in the Bulls favour if the Cheetahs and Kwas could slip up this weekend.
biltongbek wrote:
Is jy op die pil?
Potential log after this weekends games:
WP – 27
Sharks – 26
Kwas – 20
Cheetahs – 19
Bulls – 16
Lions – 6
Pumas – 5
Leopards – 4
Don’t get carried away though… WP have not yet won this game…

Dit sal amper ‘n skok wees as die Bulle wen, maar ons het mos gesien hoe die refs ‘n game kan draai, so niks is seker ontmoontlik nie.
@ Snoek:
Nee boet, dit was net die teorie agter my stywe nek, maar dit is eintlik styf na my rit vanaf Sabie wind in op my cruiser.
