Griquas (3) 3 / WP (12) 50 (Final Score)
GWK Griquas hosted WP at GWK Park, Kimberley at 15:00. This is the match thread for discussion of the game. The Game was broadcast live on M-Net and SuperSport 1 in SA.
The 1st Half was a hard and uncompromising affair with Willem de Waal giving WP the edge with a few converted penalties, but the 2nd half was a different affair, WP running Griquas ragged and ending the game on fire.
WP scored 6 tries in the process…. they will be hard to beat next weekend at Newlands… beware Blue Bulls!

115@ Treehugger:
Well, you can sit on a “smiley” or stick in a “smiley”, I suppose… Bwahahahaha
Excellent, potential banana skin succesfully navigated. Bring on the Bully Boys…
@ bdb:
Dont seem to be playing that game on any of the other channels.
WP 38 / 3
@ grootblousmile:
Funny man 👿
am now going find animals to feed before the important game, see you just now.
There’s only 1 team on the field now….
WP lineout 5m out
Try Pieter Louw……
This is now a drubbing!
WP 43 / 3 as Lionel Cronje kicks the conversion attempt against the post
128 @ grootblousmile: Gee, Pieter Louw again. He’s having a great season.
130@ JockBok:
He is!!
Kwas now throwing everything at the WP
Lineout 5m from WP line, Kwas throw
1 min to go
Goeie weg wen met bonuspunt vir WP.
Maar om dinge in perspektief te stel:
1. WP speel hierdie wedstryd vandag sonder 5 van hul beste spelers.
2. Bulle het gisteraand sonder 12 van hul beste spelers gespeel.
Hierdie is alles net voor wedstryde voordat die CB in die semi’s begin. So WP en Sharks: don’t count your Kentucky Fried Chickens ! 😉
WP turns the ball over, kick downfield… Kwas run at them again
Intercept by Lionel Cronje and he runs through to score
134 @ grootblousmile:
We want 6……..
Lol, and there it is….
WP 50 / 3
Final Score!
Damn, this was good from WP in the 2nd half….
140 @ grootblousmile:
Nice one. Job done I’d say. Thanks for the commentary GBS…
Ok maar net-net, amper so spannend gewees soos laasnag se wedstryd. WP ondersteuners het hul naels afgekou oor of hul span 50 gaan haal of nie.
142@ JockBok:
Pleasure…. I’m worried about the coming weekend… eishhhhhhhh
Over to the Sharks / Lions thread
bdb 135: dis reg, troos jouself …
144 @ grootblousmile:
Well they can certainly take the confidence from this result if it wasn’t there before. The Bulls after last night? Could work either way from a confidence point of view I guess. They certainly looked out of sorts but every team has one of those games a season. And you still got the 5 points so I don’t read too much into it. I’d expect nothing more than a typical tough WP/Bulls clash.
147@ JockBok:
Bulls midfield and fullback are extremely suspect….
148 @ grootblousmile: Yes, Pretorius has been disappointing since his move from the Lions, and Jaco has done nothing that even remotely deserves a mention since his failed ‘drop kick’ from his own half for the Boks about 5 years ago 🙂
There must be a few lighties ready to step up there?
