Following the Wallabies loss to an average England side and generally 2 poor weeks of Test rugby for them, the Wallabies are looking decidedly frail, a situation which is not helped by the fact that the Wallabie injury list is now fast becomming longer than my arm.

rugby365 reports as follows:

Wallabie wing Digby Ioane is to undergo shoulder reconstruction and will be out of action for at least four months, Australian coach Robbie Deans said on Sunday. Ioane injured the shoulder when he fell heavily during his team’s 20-21 loss to England in Sydney at the weekend.

Dynamic scrumhalf Will Genia will also miss four weeks with a fractured thumb.

Scans on Sunday confirmed Genia had broken his right thumb, ruling him out of the test against Ireland in Brisbane on Saturday and potentially for four to six weeks in total.

Deans said he would look at the possibility of calling another scrumhalf into the squad, with Australian Barbarians representative Josh Valentine among those likely to be considered.

This follows the already extensive Wallaby injury list that includes:
* Wycliff Palu (knee), out for the season, mat be back for year-end tour.
* James Horwill (knee), out for the season.
* Stephen Moore (fractured jaw), unlikely to be back before the Tri-Nations.
* Ben Alexander (knee), should be back before Tri-Nations.
* Benn Robinson (fractured arm), should be back before Tri-Nations.
* Scott Higginbotham (ankle), could be back for Tri-Nations.
