The 4 Teams to advance to the Semi-Finals of the IRB Junior World Championship is Australia, England, New Zealand and South Africa, following the culmination of the third round of pool matches.
The Baby Boks will take on arch rivals the Baby Blacks in their semifinal clash on Thursday, while last year’s runners up England face off against Australia in the other much anticipated semifinal.
I watched a little of the Aussie game last night, and I am constantly amazed at how we get absolutely murdered in the scrums, when we have a pack of big solid players who obviously are extremely poorly coached.
We have better talent than any other nation, but seem to completely lack technical coaching ability, and it is a disgrace to see a pack that should kill any other pack getting murdered themselves.
The coach should resign.
Tighthead, so you reckon its out technique that is wrong. why dont you tell the dudes and offer them some help….I am sure you are respected in those circles. Still dunno who you are though, just that you knew Herman and know my other prop mate Mort.
@ 4man:
You should see the physical prescence of these young boys.
They are built like you cannot believe!!
That is what gives me the shits about it.
I would love to give them some technical scrum coaching and I can assure you they can easily become the best scrummagers in the world.
It is all about their lack of scrum technique.
Tighthead…Ja I agree with you, like that youngster for Freestate…the blonde kid, clearly as strong as an ox but got pushed around in the S14.
Why cant you get involved in coaching, or is it time and money?
@ 4man:
I do not need to coach for the money.
Time is tight, but can be worked out.
However I have worked a little with some youngsters one on one, but the biggest thing is that I am too experienced to put up with the political bullshit in rugby.
This is even true at primary school level, where every father is an expert who “should have” been a Bok.
@ tighthead
Ha ha ha….cynicism is the last refuge of weary men….I know exactly how you feel. I was recently paid a lot of money to do some consulting. The people in the company didnt like what I had to say, the CEO wanted to know what effect I’d had, I pointed out that you can take the horse to water, but alas, you cant make it drink. They asked me to carry on….I said no, I have better things to do. Must say with my passion though, which is shooting, I still enjoy supporting the guys and its difficult to coach from England, but most of that sport is in the head, so I can work on that remotely. But I have selected receptive people and ahve helped them. Happy to say that two of the youngsters I have trained over the last 6 years or so, have been selected for the Protea squad to shoot at the USA champs in Little Tock Arkinsaw this year. I might even pop across to my buddy in New Mexico and we can go and check out the champs and then go and shoot a Moose or White tailed deer…..long flat shots there, just like the Karoo.

@ Ashley: ha ha Ash, yes you are right, fortunately the Navy taught me to type, so i know where the c, o and u are!
Its quite interesting to hear your views tighthead, what is it that they are doing wrong? I am assuming that you played in the front row at a pretty high level because you seem to know your stuff 🙂
@ Winston:
Where is all the serial bloggers?
WI cricket is falling behind every year , sad indeed that almost all our wickets was lost to slow bowlers. Where is the feared fast men.
I’m not sure Super,Puma has been very quiet lately 🙂 Yeah, problem is these pitches are slower than India’s and it does not promote fast bowling, they need to produce better quality pitches but with lack of resources and money to do it its a problem.
