Super RugbyThis week it is Round 6 of Super Rugby 2017!

There is 1 game on Friday 31 March 2017, 5 games on Saturday 1 April 2017 and 1 game on Sunday 2 April 2017.

Four teams have BYE weekends this week, the Brumbies, Southern Kings, Jaguares and Sunwolves.

The action kicks off on Friday with the game between the Highlanders and Melbourne Rebels in Dunedin, at 08:35 SA Time (19:35 NZ Time, , 17:35 AEDT, 06:35 GMT).

The action starts pretty early on Saturday, with the Blues hosting the Western Force in Auckland at 06:15 SA Time (17:15 NZ Time, 12:15 AWST, 04:15 GMT)

The first South African team to see action is the Vodacom Bulls, in Hamilton when they play away against the Chiefs, on Saturday morning 1 April 2017 at 08:35 SA Time (19:35 NZ Time, 06:35 GMT).

The third game of Saturday morning is when the Reds host the Hurricanes in Brisbane at 10:45 SA Time (19:45 AEST, 21:45 NZ Time, 08:45 GMT).

A few hours later, on Saturday afternoon, the DHL Stormers host the Toyota Cheetahs in Cape Town at 15:05 SA Time (13:05 GMT). The Emirates Lions host the Cell C Sharks in Johannesburg at 17:15 SA Time (15:15 GMT).

The last game of the Round is in Sydney, Australia on Sunday when the Waratahs host the Crusaders at 08:05 SA Time (17:05 AEST, 19:05 NZ Time, 06:05 GMT).

I nominate the following winners for the Round. The Highlanders should beat the Melbourne Rebels in Dunedin. I predict a good win for the Blues against the Western force in Auckland early on Saturday and I predict another away loss for the Vodacom Bulls against the Chiefs in Hamilton. The Hurricanes should have to much fire power for the Reds away from home in Brisbane.

On SA soil, the DHL Stormers should dispatch the Toyota Cheetahs and I would say that the Emirates Lions should beat the Cell C Sharks in Johannesburg.

For the Sunday game between the Waratahs and Crusaders, I see a win for the Crusaders.

The Team Sheets are complete for Round 6.

3 Responses to Super Rugby 2017 – Weekend Teams – Round 6

    Predictions:
Landers vs Rebs…………………..result already in. A predictable massacre.
Blues vs Force………………….closer. But still a comfortable win to the Blues. Blues by 15.
Chiefs Vs Bulls. ………………….Sorry Bullyboys. 2nd game in NZ and better acclimatized, but a sold win by the Chiefs. Chiefs by 17.
Reds vs Canes……….Reds have played on 3 different Continents in the last 3 weeks. Even at home…no chance. Canes by 25.
Stormers vs Cheetahs……….Stormboys by 12. Home advantage and form Team of their Conference. Stormboys by 16.
Lions vs Sharkies………..Maybe the closest game of the Round. Lions home advantage and overall positive game. Leo’s by 10.
Tahs vs Crusaders………..Usually very hard to beat the Tahs at home. But not this week. Crusaders by enough. I’ll call it by 12.

Byes this Round…………………..Brumbies, Kings and Jaguares.
Kings, can visit Cheeky in Remand Custody.
Show Ponies, will be happy enough. But improvement will be needed. Top of their Conference. But only 2 from 5 wins so far.
Jaguares. Laughing their way into the play-offs. SA Teams keep sending less than full strength Teams to Buenos Aires. Madness. This cost the Lions a home final last year. Unbeaten at home so far.

But hey ……………………this is Super Rugby and anything can happen.
