GLRUThe Xerox Golden Lions team to face the Free State Cheetahs in their Currie Cup clash on Friday evening in Bloemfontein has been announced.

In an enforced change, Andries Ferreira comes in to the second row to replace the injured Lourens Erasmus, and will lock the scrum with the youngster JP du Preez who impressed in his starting debut against Western Province last week.

A rotational change sees Cyle Brink replacing Ruan Ackermann, who drops to the bench in the loose trio.

Among the reserves, Martin Muller comes in as cover at lock, and Pieter Scholtz moves up as the prop cover.

The Xerox Golden Lions will be looking to build on their impressive display last week against Western Province when they travel to the City of Roses to play the high flying Cheetahs who are unbeaten this season, and in so doing push on for a play-off position in defence of the trophy they won last season.

Good team, this. Good to see some continuity at last. If this team plays like they did against WP, we should win it. Just need to tighten up the defence a bit.

All the best to both teams but hopefully whoever wins doesn’t pick up a bonus point and whoever loses doesn’t pick up any either or possibly even a draw with no try bonus points could work – that is with my Blue Bulls hat on Happy-Grin Haven’t looked closely enough at the table to see what result will best suit us.

    @ Bullscot:
    A 0-0 draw. Happy-Grin Tounge-Out

    @ Scrumdown:
Nah both teams defences are too leaky that could never happen in fact they think defence is something with barbed wire on top that separates neighbours Pondering Happy-Grin

Cheetahs 37/29 Lions the result. Sorry for you guys Scrumdown and Lion4ever. Could make it tough for you to qualify for the semifinals and probably pretty much guarantees Cheetahs a home semifinal.

5 tries to the Cheetahs only 2 to the Lions looks like the Cheetahs have learnt to tackle Amazed
