hullo GB. You still around boet?
46 @ Tassies:
I am, I am!
Just busy as hell, man!
Wish I were triplets… so I could delegate work to some competent fellas…. hehehe
@ grootblousmile: GB newly initiated landlords can be very busy fellas, collecting rent and wielding that baseball bat to obstinate tenants. 😯
48 @ Tassies:
It’s not the tennants which give me grief at present!!
It’s the freegin Municipality!
I went and paid the previous owner’s arrear Rates & Taxes and Services account (more than R 8 700.00) on Friday, as well as to take over the Services Account on behalf of the 1 Pty Ltd I am using for registration of this specific one property and pay the Water & Electricity deposits (another 5 700.00)… so that the Municipality could reconnect the poor tennants Electricity…. which the previous owner left them in the gemors with…
It is now already Tuesday night, 5 days later… and the flippen Municipality has not yet switched it on.
I came down like a ton of bricks on the Municipality today, told them I was going to break their seal and switch it back on myself, which I duly did… and am now expecting them to switch it on and give ME the shit for breaking the seal and switching it on myself.
Bloody hell, the accounts are paid, the new deposits paid… all I want is just service delivery!
@ grootblousmile: wishful thinking GB. If there is no employee incentive to perform then forget about any performance. Period. As business owners we understand that basic human response. In the absence of any employer driven incentive, the customer needs to supplement (with his cash) to grease the wheels into action. Sound familiar? Here in the W Cape, you pay your bill and viola, on go the lights. That’s been my experience anyway. Corruption is still there but its minimal to the point of being invisible to the naked eye. The downside is; its bloody expensive living down here and the government know how to charge. Try parking in a street in the city.
