    Bulls musnt underestimate the lions.
Cant understand this with Jano as the Lions scrummie, its one of their few strong points.

  • 2

I think its a good idea, give him a rest and put him on the bench as insurance if the game gets very tight.. Papa Matfield also needs to have a break.

  • 3

Still no Bakkies Botha, when is the enforcer coming back?

  • 5

Eina !

  • 6

Bdb,thats a low blow bud.:) But am sure the Bulls can cope for a game or two without the great Matfield. I’m pretty sure Bakkies Botha would be a decent replacement and Fourie can be captain for a game?

  • 7

Fourie does’nt like to be captain.

Rather use D.Potgieter, and also Bakkies in not the same type of lock as Matfield.

He needs to be rested though…

  • 8

Lets not use provincial logic here guys, you probably also expect him to play all 15 test matches this year,he is bound to break down if he gets no rest..

  • 9

8@ Winnie – Let Bekker start in Half of the Test matches then…. for now the Super 14 Crown needs to be retained!

  • 10

  • 12

Thats the problem Gbs,Bekker is also being played into the ground, where is this great plan of man management before the World Cup by Piet Snor?

  • 13

I still find it hard to believe that a team as good as the Bulls with the depth they have cant play one or two games without Matfield, what is going to happen after 2011 if that is the case?

  • 14

  • 15

@ 13 J.Kruger is coming back…together with F.van der Merwe, Wilhelm Steenkamp on loan to the Sharks etc.

  • 16

This whole thing is all hippocracy, guys talk about resting players but as soon as a game or two is lost then the full strength team has to play..

  • 17

  • 18

Exactly Blouste,so there is depth coming as well as good players at the moment such as Flip etc,but lets see what happens down the line. I’m just scared our big players break down in 2011,I have always believed in what Dr. Tim Noakes said about how much a professional rugby player can play..

  • 19

    Grootblousmile

Bdb,you have a point and I hear where you are coming from, but I’d have my franchise lose every single game and have the Boks retain the World Cup. If you asked John Smit that question from a man who has done it all except the Super 14 what do you think he’ll tell you. I know some players need to play all the time like Burger who gets better the more he plays but all I’m saying is that the man management of individual players needs to be looked at in more detail and planned better..

What happened about the so called “gps” type of system that certain players were gonna wear during the tournie to monitor distances covered etc?

    Is it being used ?

Maybe everybody knows more than we think….

  • 23

    #16 Winston,
