SA Schools coach Hein Kriek and his SA Schools A counterpart Lance Sendin on Monday made wholesale changes to their starting line-ups for the 2nd Round of the Under 18 International Series at Outeniqua Park in George on Tuesday.
The SA Schools team will take on France at 17:00 SA Time and the SA Schools A team will go up against England at 13:00 SA Time.
In the other clash Wales will take on Italy at 15:00 SA Time.
Kriek made 7 changes to his team, which sees 2014 Coca-Cola Craven Week player of the year Curwin Bosch move from flyhalf to fullback, while flyhalf Damian Willemse will join forces with scrumhalf Embrose Papier in a new halfback combination.
The other changes in the backline were on the left wing where Wandisile Similane replaces Manie Libbok and centre Heino Bezuidenhout is selected alongside Stedman Gans, who scored 2 tries in their opening fixture against Wales.
Up-front Kriek retained the flanker combination of Cobus Wiese and captain Ersnt van Rhyn, while Hacjivah Dayimani has been selected at No 8. In the engine room lock Ruben van Heerden will start alongside Ruben de Villiers.
Ashwyn Adams, meanwhile, will start at loosehead prop in a strong front row with tighthead prop Carlu Sadie and hooker Johan Grobbelaar.
“We would like to build on the momentum we built up in our opening match but we also wanted to give other players a chance to show us what they can do, so we maintained some consistency in selection while at the same time making a few changes,” said Kriek.
“Each and every one of these players had a fantastic Coca-Cola Craven Week campaign, so we are excited to see what they have to offer.”
Commenting on the clash against France, Kriek said “France will ask different questions to Wales, and although they suffered a defeat against England, they were competitive throughout the match. Their attack and defence is solid, so we are expecting a tough clash.”
Sendin also made a handful of changes to his team to face England, which features a new halfback pairing of flyhalf Eddie Fouche and Jason Olivier, and a new-look backline.
Riaan van Rensburg will start at fullback, with Tyreeq February and Ryan Muller at wing, and Cyprian Nkomo and Cornel Smit in the midfield.
Unfortunately for Sendin lock PJ Steenkamp has been ruled out with an ankle injury and has been replaced in the squad by Ruan Vermaak from the Golden Lions.

England Under 18 beat SA Schools A by 5 tries to 1… with a score of 33 / 8.
At the moment it is Italy Under 18 vs Wales Under 18.
Wales 18 / 5 Italy – Halftime
Wales 32 / 10 Italy
63 Min gone in the game
OK, Wales won 32 / 10 against Italy!
On the field already, the SA Schools side vs France Under 18.
French Anthem already being played.
SA Anthem
Game ON!
… and a good start by the SA Schools side… they also get the 1st penalty shot at goal.
SA Schools 3 / 0 France
France penalty at goal…
Missed… 22 drop in by Schools
Bosch to goal again forthe Schools side…. missed left.
When last did you hear the surname Bosch at flyhalf for a SA side (OK, he’s playing fullback today but is actually a flyhalf)?
The last I remember was Gerald Bosh in the 1970’s… who played for Transvaal and the Springboks and who was one of the frst proponents of kicking with an angled run-up to the ball and kicking the ball with the inside of the foot, rather than with the toes.
Who was the WP Craven Week flyhalf this year, I think he was sublime and much better than this Curwin Bosch outjie!
Tighthead for SA Schools… and then they squander it… eish!
Another tighthead… good one!
Well, almost a tighthead…
17 Phases by the Schools side… then they get a penalty 6m out… goal it is
SA Schools 6 / 0 France
Hands in the ruck by the French, penalty.
Cobus Wiese down injured.
He is the Schools lock… from Griquas Country Districts, I believe
SA Schools 9 / 0 France
Lemoenetyd
SA Schools win against the froggies
