South African Springboks (6) 19 / 16 (10) British & Irish Lions (Final Score)
Springboks take the series, 2 Tests to 1.
Fitting that Morné Steyn scored the last 6 points for the Bokke too… the man is a legend!
What a strange British & Irish Lions 2021 Series…
Bokke loses 1st Test
No crowds
Fighting in the Media by Rassie
Covid preventing the Bulls from playing the B & I Lions
B & I Lions absolutely thrashing the other SA Provincial sides.
B & I Lions winning 5 from 8 Series matches…
Phew too tense good for Boks to win. But well done and thanks to the Lions for hanging on out there, no one could have blamed them if they came home before the tests started.
Well, thank you British & Irish Lions… always nice to welcome you to our shores… and thank you for coming in these strange and uncertain times.
Cheslin Kolbe awarded Man Of The Match
So, Springboks are reigning World Champions and reigning Champions of the British & Irish Lions 2021 Series…
Next week The Rugby Championship starts in all ernest…
Springboks only had 36% possession in the match…
Just glad that Morné Steyn was the sub for flyhalf and not Elton Jantjies…
Bokke receive their Series medals, from Siya Kolisi
A win by only 3 points… by the Bokke
The fireworks erupt…
The feeling in the British & Irish Lions camp must be one of total deflation…
But let’s make one thing clear, Warren Gatland’s British & Irish Lions 2021 was a strong outfit…
… and with that, I am out for the evening!!
Cheers, have a good one…
Congratulations South Africa. Sounds like we were outclassed in the end.
Would have been great to revisit South Africa and catch up with some of the Keo/RT bloggers again.
Enjoy your win. Have a great evening 🙂
First of The Formalities:
Congratulations SA. Tough hard fought Series. As it always is with a B & I Lions Series.
Commiserations Lions supporters: Tough hard fought Series. As it always is in SA.
A month ago, I was of the opinion that this Tour, and The Olympics should have been postpone or even cancelled.
I was wrong. In these troubled and dreary times, both events have been uplifting.
@ Blue Bird:
Next Lions Tour to SA should be in twelve years. Some of us may not even be alive by then.
We should then all arrange to meet in some French Bar at the next World Cup.
Right before the Final………………………….Between NZ and Old Blighty.
