Three games will be played today in the 6 Nations in what should have been the final weekend of this year’s tournament.
Scotland host Italy at Murrayfield in the match of the day and go into the game with captain Stuart Hogg starting at flyhalf. This due to first choice flyhalf Finn Russell being out with concussion and second choice Adam Hastings serving a suspension. Jaco vd Walt will be on the bench and will hopefully get some deserved game time.
The second game will see Ireland host England in Dublin following their narrow win away from home against Scotland last weekend. This will be CJ Stander’s last 6 Nations match for Ireland who will be hoping to send him off with a win.
The final game which would probably have turned out to be the title decider had COVID-19 not affected France earlier in the tournament. France host Wales in Paris tonight. Wales will be chasing the Grand Slam and have it in their hands to ensure this is the title deciding game with a win having not been beaten in the 6 Nations so far this year. France will be hoping for a win themselves to take the title race into next weekend when they host Scotland in the re-arranged fixture.

Poor play Scotland pick and go a number of times then knock on, and Italy are up to 14
Alex Craig on to makes his Scotland debut, Gilchrist off – 62nd min
Now checking for illegal hit on Ritchie who is struck on the head at the ruck
Seems like a cop out only a penalty , match officials should look at it after the game
Ah Duhan vd Merwe runs right over the defender and just loses control before scoring, didn’t look like a knock on to me but he was held up by 2 defenders any way
Scrum collapses, reset 5m scrum Italy
Strong Scotland scrum push Italy back and turn it and get a penalty take a quick tap, try by Johnson ❗
Scotland 45/10 Italy 66th min Johnson subbed off, looks like he took a few knocks one on the way to scoring and one to the head after scoring. Hogg converted, interesting thought vd Walt would take on the kicking duties
Scotland scrum on halfway as Italy players in front of kick off
Harris came on for Johnson and Watson is off with Haining on
Scotland throwing it about but then knock on
Ritchie in from the side penalized, Italy lineout just inside Scotland 22
vd Merwe scores under the post as Scotland pounce on Italy giving up possession inside Scotland 22, nicely done by Price to make the yards and then gets the ball away to vd Merwe no catching him
Scotland 52/10 Italy, Hogg converts 73rd min
Scotland run from their 22 then kick ahead after good run by Jones, Hogg tackles him in the air and conceeds penalty. Italy through in skew, scrum just inside Italy half.
Young Favretto on for Johan Meyer
Scotland line out about midway between Italy 10m and 22
Scotland give away penalty and it’s Italy lineout on Scotland 10m
Hamish Watson given man of the match
Italy playing with penalty advantage, and they kick it to touch
Italy lineout about 6m out
Long throw and Italy lose the lineout, nicely carried up by Craig and Scotland kick out. Biggest win for Scotland against Italy.
Final score: Scotland 52/10 Italy
Nice to see vd Walt with a big smile on his face with his team mates after the game in spite of getting so little game time this 6 Nations
Right time to go, won’t be able to put too much time into the next 2 games.
Halftime: Ireland 20/6 England
Lots of kicking and penalties so far in the second half
Looks like a try for Earls, just checking for possible knock on in build up
Yup was a knock on no try, but they were playing advantage so penalty Ireland
