Ireland opt to take the 5m scrum…
Samoa bullied into submission in this game…
Now that one should have been a Yellow.
Late , very late.
Try Ireland… CJ Stander!
Ireland 40 / 5 Samoa
So… only 1 more Quarter-finalist to be confirmed… and it is only between Japan and Scotland to take up that position…
Samoa giving yet another penalty away…
How many penalties in total have they conceded in this game alone??
Try Andrew Conway, Ireland!
Ireland 47 / 5 Samoa
Penalty this time for Samoa, on halfway… but the horse has loooong since bolted for them…
6 Minutes left…
Try Samoa??
TMO
No try… double movement.
Ireland defensive 5m penalty.
90 Seconds..
Man Of The Match is awarded to Jordan Larmour of Ireland.
Ireland (26) 47 / 5 (5) Samoa (Final Score)
Well… what to make of this game?
Spoilt by 3 Cards, spoilt by 19 penalties.
All in all a good Ireland win, 5 full Log Points… 7 tries to 1.
Ireland still does not impress fully though, workman-like performance… one stumble along the way against Japan.
BUT, the Quarters and further along means knock-out rugby and all you need do is continue winning…
I really, really hope the Japan / Scotland match will be played tomorrow, it would be such a pity to deny a side a chance at the Quarters due to a weather anomaly…
Tomorrow there are 4 Rugby World Cup matches scheduled:
Canada vs Namibia (05:15 SA Time)
Tonga vs USA (07:45 SA Time)
Wales vs Uruguay (10:15 SA Time)
Japan vs Scotland (12:45 SA Time)
Next up, in just more than an hour, we have the Guinness PRO14 match, Southern Kings vs Ulster…
