Good morning nice game of rugby some mistakes but mainly because Japan are playing at pace and full of trickery with offlioads

Hello Bully!
Yeah, a good game so far!
Japan have come a long way in 5 or 6 years…
Japan 9 / 12 Ireland
Japan scrum on the middle spot…
After the first 2 tries thought Ireland were going to run away with it but Japan have come back strongly
Japan scrum not moved an inch back by the Ireland scrum…
Oodles of possession for Japan… and they are using it well!
Japan gets to about 5m out… the ball goes out.
Halftime
I woud even go so far as to say that Japan has been the better side in the 1st half… bar the 2 Irish tries…
More possession, better control, better urgency, good options…
Better breaks, better ball carrying…

Hi Gbs from what I’ve seen of them they try to play well but just lack enough quality to challenge the top 5 but you are right since the last World Cup they have gone from about 15th at best to a top 10 team

I think Super Rugby has helped a lot, with the Sunwolves playing…
And the Japanese Clubs are rich and cash-flush, with the huge Japanese Industries investing heavily, so all the foreign players have helped for the overall quality of Japanese domestic rugby too.
On the evidence of the first half Gregor Townsend could be a worried man for the last pool game against Japan but let’s see if Japan have the stamina to stay close you would think the Scmidt team talk will get Ireland fired up.

I am worried about Scotland in general… there were rumours of unhappiness in the camp this week ect…
2nd Half ON!
@ grootblousmile:
Oh dear didn’t hear about that where were those rumours from?

On the back of the big loss against Ireland last week, I heard there were some hard and harsh words this week and during training this week in the Scotland camp.
Plenty of flair by Japan…
22m Drop out by Ireland.
The Japan urgency right up there… and thy look like a well-coached and well-rounded side!
The Irish subs starting to roll on.
Japan varying well between hard drive up, ball wide, offloads…
Knocked by Japan, just outside the Irish 22.
Japan still having more of the possession… and their set-pieces have gone really well so far.
Ireland scrum, on the Japanese 10m line.
Reset scrum.
Watch, the Irish tighthead prop binds on the Japanese loosehead’s arm… illegally so!
Ireland penalty, as Leitch goes offside…
Japan steals the Irish lineout!!
Driving tackles by Japan!

But that’s a good think because there should have been as that performance was unacceptable, unless its coming from the players not happy with the game plan…
The Brave Blossoms not standing back an inch for Ireland…
Japan kickable penaty!!
About 45m out…
Posts… they could square up here…
