Game ON!
Kick-Off by the Hurricanes!
Canes penalty, just inside the Canes half.
Canes penalty advantage, high tackle… and then awarded.
Deeeep in the Sunwolves 22.
Kicked into the corner.
Sunwolves turn the ball over and runs from their own line…
then a penalty to them on about the 22.
Try Masirewa, Sunwolves!
Vosayako carved them open!
Sunwolves 7 / 0 Hurricanes
Turned over by the Canes on the ground… they attack… then loses the ball and the Wolves counter hard!
They make it to within 5m where the Canes have the ball.
Shoddy clearance to touch.
The Sunwolves always starts with verve… but struggle to maintain that momentum.
Wolves 10m penalty… shot.
Sunwolves 10 / 0 Hurricanes
Try TJ Perenara, under the sticks… Canes!
Sunwolves 10 / 7 Hurricanes
Of course, the Hurricanes are resting some of their All Blacks… the 2 Barrett brothers probably the most important ones.
I cannot for the life of me see the Hurricanes lose this game… but rugby is rugby and the Sunwolves have already taken 2 huge scalps this season, the Chiefs and Waratahs.
Hurricanes never a side with the biggest and hardest forwards, their backline has always been their potent weapon, which begs the question whether the absense of Beauden Barrett and Jordy Barret will disrupt the flow in the Canes backline…
Wolves shot at goal slotted…
Sunwolves 13 / 7 Hurricanes
Big Wolves atack but wayward passing makes them play backwards and more backwards, at a rate of knots…
Kickable penalty Wolves, high tackle… shot.
Sunwolves 16 / 7 Hurricanes
Big tackle on Du Plessis Kirifi…
Wolves attack… try Semisi Masirewa!
Sunwolves 23 / 7 Hurricanes
Canes 5m out, after a Wolves bumble…
Canes 5m penalty, they opt to scrum… never onside.
No fliudity in the Canes backline…
Another mistake by the Wolves, near their line and TJ Perenara almost scores.
Back for a Canes scrum, 8m out…
Canes squander an overlap… white line fever.
Back for a Canes 5m penalty, offside.
Again the Canes opt to scrum…
Wolves scrum Free Kick… and they survive the onslaught!
