Lions 0 / 25 Sharks
Knock by Jacques Vermeulen on the kick-off receipt…. in the pouring rain.
Knock by the Lions… Am takes it up… then eventually Schreuder hacks it out.
Lemoenetyd
Some hard and harsh words will have to be spoken in the Lions changeroom during the break…
So far the worst Lions performance in about 5 years…
Sharks with three quarters of possession and probably even more territory, in the 1st half.
Why is it that our SA sides seem to have these terrible games, in between some good performances?
As if they are totally switched off into “Dumb Mode”!
Look how the Bulls got caned against the Chiefs, then bounced back to beat the Sharks… now this game…
And you could pull it through to the other SA sides too… the Strormers going down to the Bulls by 3 / 40 in their 1st game of the season…
In the PRO14 the Kings have been beaten heavily, but then bounced back to win in Port Elizabeth against stern opposition. Same with the Cheetahs, looking terrible against some sides in this season’s PRO14…
2nd Half ON!
t looks like it’s going to be terrible rugby in the 2nd half, with the teaming rain….
A 25-point deficit is bad enough to catch up…. but to do it in these weather conditions is double jeapardy…
Sharks penalty… 2m inside their own half…
Curwin Bosch for goal
Lions 0 / 28 Sharks
I have not even heard the name of Elton Jantjies in this game yet…
Nic Groom on for Ross Cronjé for the Lions.
Lions penalty… against Coenie Oosthuizen, binding on the arm.
28 Minutes to go… so it means a point a minute if the Lions hope to catch up…. steep, steep mountain to climb.
Looks like the rain has abated a bit… but everything is slippery and play will continue to be difficult.
Surely technology MUST be at the level where balls can be developed which are better suited to wet weather…
Elton Jantjies tackled… which he will feel till day after tomorrow…
Reset Sharks scrum..
The Sharks are reading everything the Lions want to do, like an open book…
Sharks scrum Free Kick, standing up… tap and go and knocked by Mvovo!
Lions scrum Free Kick… tap and go…
Lions penalty…
Sharks steal the ball.
A story of absolutely no control by the Lions.
Sharks penalty against Malcolm Marx, on about the Lions 10m line… posts.
Missed to the left by Bosch.
18 Minutes to go in the match.
Lions manage to get the ball on their own 5m line… then some fumbles.
Back for a Lions defensive scrum.
Only 3 points in total scored so far in the 2nd half…
Spilled by the Lions…
Sharks scrum, deeeeep in the Lions half.
14 Minutes to go… it means 2 points a minute which the Lions need to catch up… nigh to impossible.
