Faf de Klerk named Man Of The Match.

Springboks will have to look at their defences out wide and in a covering line of defence… too many soft tries conceded.

3 Of the 5 England tries scored out wide when the Springboks allowed glaring gaps and plenty space out there.

I would definately play André Esterhuizen next week in place of Damian de Allende.

I would also start with Steven Kitshoff, Akker van der Merwe and Thomas du Toit in the front row and I would also play Pieter-Steph du Toit at blindside flank to start in place of Jean-Luc du Preez.

    Good to get the win.

So, shoring up defences out wide… strenghening the front row… and a more abrasive blindside flank…

    @ grootblousmile:
Difficult balance to strike because you want your best players to play as much as possible but also want enough quality on the bench so things don’t implode when subs are needed.

Rassie must have been soooooo worried 25 minutes into the game… but it was almost predictable due to the fact that there were no settled combinations playing next to one another.

The forwards had to settle and find their cohesion… the backs also had to settle and the back 3 defence which was found wanting, can be ascribed to the fact that their defence did not initially gell instinctively…. to know how to assist each other in a combined defensive pattern…

One needs to start with the strongest 15 who also combines the best… because they play for almost 75% of the game.

Then the subs need to really impact when they come on…. strike players like Kwagga Smith, Jean-Luc du Preez, Warrick Gelant.

Oh and another thing, we are forgetting that Bismarck du Plessis will be available…. so maybe I’d use him at hooker to start, with Akker keeping his place on the bench, Bongi out of the 23.

Next week I will particularly be looking if defences out wide is better and better organised.

The Bokke loosies were well over their counterparts in general play and in and around the rucks…. that dominance needs to continue.

The front row needs to function like it dit with Kitshoff on at loosehead. Beast is clearly past his sell-by date.

The Springbok locks were better than both the England locks.

I am happy with the way Faf de Klerk and Handré Pollard combined.

Big problem at inside centre, with Damian de Allende there… cannot see what teams and selectors see in him…. just cannot!!!
