Yeah, it never really caught on here… but then again, our mindset was dominate and subdue with strong forwards packs and playing a dominating No 10… so called 10-man rugby.

Running rugby was never a premium focus and as a result we have fallen way behind the New Zealand mindset.

Yip, started with Bennie Osler. Craven also did not want paying rugby to get going after Van Vollenhoven was picked up by pommie leaque scouts in 56. Never to late to try again to get leaque going in SA. Might be good for SA union rugby if school kids also play leaque.
