@ grootblousmile:
I’d have to agree. But Alaistair is the head coach and what he says goes. I think last year’s Bok coaching team was appalling. Franco Smith is not a tried and tested coach. But Brendan V certainly is. I’d venture; he IS the difference.
Think I need a drinks re-charge…. waiter… oh waiter… yeah here… come, come, come!
@ grootblousmile:
This is NOT a weak French side. They ran the Poms very close in their own back yard earlier this year. We’re simply playing out of our skins is my opinion. We’re not at AB level yet but the upward trajectory is good for the future of my nerves. So much young talent coming to the fore.
61 @ Tassies:
It is all facets of play…
The Breakdown work
Defensive organization (Brendan Venter)
Attacking lines (Brendan Venter & Franco Smith)
Work rate and the attitude towards and on the ball
Scrumming work
Lineout play
The one aspect not up to scratch yet is the kick-off receipts…
63 @ Tassies:
Yeah… and the French have had a whole SIX Nations tournament already this year, whereas the June Internationals are the Bokke (and Southern Hemisphere’s) 1st Tests of the year.
So it does look promising indeed.
2nd Half ON!
Bokke penalty… yet another shot!
Well short…
Bokke penalty.. deliberate knock ruled…
Bokke defence near the Bokke line is rock-freegin solid!!
France scrum though, 5m out!
France penalty… and the French flyhalf down injured.
Steven Kitskos on…
France penalty, quick tap… intercept by Rhule…
Damn bloody good tackle it was by Kitsie…
that was a massive sign of change. Huge defensive effort. Biggest I’ve seen for a very long time. That’s commitment. This is indeed a good team in the making.
France scrum Free Kick… they opt to scrum 5m out.
Try France, Penaud?
TMO
Foot in touch, no try!
Bokke penalty, on their own 5m line… a relieving one.
The Bokke attitude and the sheer effort the players are putting in is very refreshing and impressive!!
France penalty, right in front… 10m out…
Shot at goal, why??
Springboks 23 / 10 France
Number of subs on for the Bokke.
Pieter-Steph du Toit, Francois Hougaard, Coenie die Boef!
Lost by Kolisi, 5m out…
Then a French penalty on their own 5m line.
Tryyyyyyy Coenie die Boef, Bokke!!
Great stuff!!
sorry GB I have been glued to my screen. It’s simply unbelievable. This is back to the Boks of old. Mind boggling.
Springboks 30 / 10 France
87 @ Tassies:
Yeah, I am really enjoying this!!
Try Damian Penaud, France!
