Ja, so I was so kwaad after that 37-24 loss at Newlands on Saturday night I could have broken somebody’s blarrie nak! As Kaptein Haddock would say, “striemende blou eendmossels, man!”
How the flip do we start the last three Vodacom Super Rugby seasons with a duik against the Stormpuddings!? Even Vodacom Bulls coach Oom Nollis told me after that game, “it were the same fing last year – we lost the set piece.”
That got me thinking… and then I worked it out.

As you can see, Jamba can’t understand why the yell the fullback isn’t passing him the ball, so he’s trying to unblock SP’s ears. And remember Bongi Mbonambi, Jano Vermaak and Danny Kriel were also egte rugby manne in Pretoria before they floated south.
No excuses, but I think it took us most of the first half to work out which guys in blue were on our team. Once everybody read the memo, then the Bulls were powerful – we won the second half 24-13, okay?
