GO BOKS!
Congratulations to South African runners in the Antarctic Ice Marathon. 3 of the top 5 finishers in the men’s race are from SA. The marathon took place yesterday.
@ Bullscot:
Eleanor Pienaar came 6th out of 13 women in the marathon.
Blue Bird here in Cardiff
I will shout as loudly as I can
@ Bullscot:
#3 Eleanor’s husband Stephen Pienaar came 30th out of 37. A massive achievement for this couple. Couldnt think of a better place in the world to share this experience. Conditions would have varied along the route but the organisers said it was about -15C with some wind which would have made it feel -20C. At least it was sunny. Winds have picked up more since yesterday which means the athletes flight back to Chile has been delayed they are lucky to get extra time in that beautiful continent. Many years ago my flight back from close to where they are was delayed by about a week was so lucky as at the scheduled day of departure just didn’t feel ready to head back to civilization was enjoying the snowy wilderness too much.
Hellloooooooooooo
