    some news from france

    jake white to leave montpellier
    replaced by vern cotter

rumours say president of montpellier did not like jake white applied for the position at RFU last year….

and catrakalis to go to harlequins
(TBC he was presumably returning home at the end of the season)

    and do not forget
    GIVE US MORNE BACK !!!

    @ rebop75:
Hi rebop75. Yes it was disappointing to hear Vern Cotter is going to Montpellier they are getting a good coach who has experience of coaching in France. He is going there from 2017/18 season will be after the next 6 Nations at the earliest that he could be available. Do you know if Jake White will be there until the end of this season? I was surprised about these moves as not long before had heard Ruan Pienaar was leaving Ulster to go to Montpellier and assumed he would join Jake White there.

    @ rebop75:
Thanks for the news about Catrakillis first heard of this move. Wonder how many of the South African players will stay on at Montpellier under Cotter. The more who stay the better as they will get good coaching and should improve their game

    @ Bullscot:

    pienaar arrival has been confirmed
white will leave at the end of the season
it could be a mess if they are only average as the president has high expectations
white did not make many friends in France though he deserves some respect
montpellier plays ugly (occupation+maul) and this is pretty boring
the president hopes cotter will developp a real attractive style

most south africans have contract up to 2018
    http://www.allrugby.com/clubs/montpellier/effectif see duréee=contract column

not sure sowerby (forward) will stay beyong 2017
he did a good job though
and will have plenty of proposals

rumours say that cruden will replace catrakilis..

    66 @ rebop75:
Thanks for that link rebop75, Shalva the hooker from Georgia was with us at Glasgow for a time last season I wondered where he went to after that must have missed the news at the time of him going to Montpellier. Don’t think he played a lot at Glasgow but was handy to have in the squad in a season where Glasgow went through a lot of hookers with injuries, I think in all 7 different hookers played for us last season.

    67 @ rebop75:
That would be a step up surely for Montpellier if that rumour is true, Cruden must be thinking is All Black days are over with the younger generation like Barrett, Sopoaga etc taking over.
