Missed to the left…
Eish.
Missed.
Canes the far better team today.
Nothing working for the Lions.
14 Minutes to go…
Jantjies totally rattled.
Canes penalty, Whiteley taking Barrett in the air…
Wonderful kick by Barrett.
Whiteley lucky not to get yellow for tackling Barrett in the jump.
Time now running out rather fast for the Lions…
Try Barrett, Canes??
TMO
Try looks good…
… or does it??
Try is awarded!!
Hurricanes 20 / 3 Lions
That should be it, folks!!
Barrett scores. Canes defensive line speed resulting in a try. Lions just not precise enough; clapping the ball backwards in a defensive lineout.
10 Minutes to go, the deficit is a mighty 17 points!!
Try is good.
A bridge too far for the Lions who have not been in this game at all.
Hullo guys. Game over afraid.
In the second 40 there was only one team in it.
Jantjies has been terrible and he’s the playmaker we were expecting to take the game to the Canes.
Well…..he simply handed the game to the Canes sad to say. They marked him right out of the game.
Canes could now coast to victoy and the title…

Too often have seen teams in the position the Lions are in wait until last 5 or 10 minutes to through caution to the wind and attack from anywhere and most times it is too late. Thought the Lions should have gone down the all out attack throw it about route when they went 10 behind early in this half
Lions attacking with desperation.
Lions simply had now answers today… none!
6 Minutes to go… no way back from here… not even with sublime play…
It must also be acknowledged; the Canes defence has been exemplary all season and all night long.
146 @ Tassies:
Yip!!
Lions 5m out…

Yip. Too tentative for too long when taking the ball up. In their defence they just couldn’t get momentum due to Canes stinging and rushed defence.
Lions penalty, offside…
