Lander holding on for dear life.

  • 92

Turned over then the 9 cocks it up.

  • 93

    Game over!!

    Highlanders win by 6!

  • 94

How apt that Pocock messes it up!

  • 95

My Bru pick of Landers by 9 not too bad!

  • 96

Lander first win in Canberra for 10 years!!!!!

    Amazed

And so the Aussie involvement in Super Rugby 2016 fizzles out.

2 tries to 0 just about tells the tale I guess.

    I had them by 12.

    Brumbies (6) 9 / 15 (10) Highlanders (Final Score)

So, the last and only Aussie team in the Quarters is knocked out!

  • 99

… and now there are only 7 sides left… 3 SA Sides, 4 New Zealand sides….

  • 100

I only saw the last 20 minutes………………………………………but what a great 20 minutes it was.

Bad luck Brumbies, just couldn’t quite get over the line.

Well done Highlanders, magnificent defence in the last 5 minutes.

I’m picking a clean sweep by the NZ Teams this weekend.

    100 @ cane:
You might well be right, saying 4 New Zealand sides will be left after this weekend’s games!!

  • 102

Next game is at 09:35 SA Time tomorrow morning…. Hurricanes vs Cell C Sharks.

Hurricanes should have too much in the tank for the Sharks, one feels!

  • 103

OK, I better get some work done… see you all in the morning tomorrow!

Let’s face it, the whole system is a pile of steaming excrement really.

What right do the likes of the Sharks and Brumbies have being in the play-off’s?

To say nothing of home advantage?

  • 107

    @ Scrumdown:
    True.

The format is an attempt by SANZAR to keep as many of the participating Nations in the Competition, for as long as possible. Thus keeping up TV ratings right through to the end.

Money makes the world go round.

It ain’t perfect, that’s for sure. But I do like games that have an International flavor, so I’m not totally against it. And it does reduce travel.

    107 @ cane:
I hear you, but it does nothing for the competition in terms of fairness.

Look at the game we’ve just had.

Sure the Ponies made a fist of it, but the stadium wasn’t even half full, so did their own fans not expect a win, or was the weather really that bad?

Let’s face it, barring the Lions, the other teams from SA and Aus’ have been a long way behind the quality of Rugby that the Kiwi’s have produced.

If the last 4 teams were all from NZ it wouldn’t be misplaced, except that the likes of the ‘Lander have to travel to get a qualifier against a team that would barely have made the knock outs if it were a fair system.

Also the fact that teams like the Stormers have not had to face ANY Kiwi sides thus far is not exactly fair is it?

Anyway, enough whingeing. If I carry on I’ll have to support England. Happy-Grin

Well done to the Highlanders, a close game that could’ve quite easily gone the other way…

Pity about that TMO call but I think he got it right…”If he can’t see it he can’t award it”.

    Congratulations

    @ BrumbiesBoy:
    Bad luck Bumby,
But that’s the way the cookie crumbles.

In real time I was sure it was a try.

  • 111

Hoping for a clean sweep of wins by the SA teams. What are the chances, think there is a pretty penny to be made if this happened pity won’t be able to get to the bookies to take a wee punt on the accumulator…

  • 112

    @ Bullscot:
I too am hoping for a clean sweep, but one not quite the same as the one you wish for.
    😉

  • 113

    @ Bullscot:
    @ cane:
The only clean sweep I am hoping for is that all 3 games end without any kak decisions or controversy from the officials.

  • 114

    @ cane:
Thanks mate, yeah, it was that one camera angle shot that had me in doubts and on that basis I can’t fault Ayoub’s call.

    Sad
