Ireland have included three South Africans for their three-Test tour to South Africa in June.
Loose forward Christiaan Stander, lock Quinn Roux and hooker Richardt Strauss are the three inclusions named in Joe Schmidt’s touring group.
Roux, 25, is one of only two uncapped players included in the squad, with New Zealand-borne Ulster flank Sean Reidy also set to earn his first international stint.
Roux represented Western Province and the Stormers at Currie Cup and Super Rugby level, before signing with Leinster in 2012, making 21 appearances for the province.
He then switched to Connacht in 2015 and earned six caps for the side.
Loose forward Stander has will be looking to boost his international experience as he has already earned five Test caps for Ireland, having made his first international appearance during their 2016 Six Nations campaign.
He previously represented the Bulls at Super Rugby level.
Strauss, the cousin of Springbok and Bulls hooker Adriaan, has racked up 16 caps for the Irish since joining them in 2012.
Richardt played with Adriaan, who is tipped to captain the Boks for the June fixtures, for two years at the Cheetahs before heading abroad to join Pro12 finalists Leinster in 2009.
The veteran second row has featured 114 times for Leinster.
Cian Healy, Denis Buckley, Nathan White, Josh van der Flier, Peter O’Mahony, Sean O’Brien, Tommy Bowe, Andrew Conway and Simon Zebo are all unavailable for the tour.
“Touring South Africa will be arduous to say the least so we’ve attempted to prioritise players who are currently as close to full fitness as possible,” said Schmidt.
“In what is always a difficult balancing act, we’ve taken a long term view with a number of players who need a rest or will benefit from a full pre-season.”
The squad will depart for South Africa on Sunday, June 5, and will be based in Cape Town ahead of the first Test at the Newlands Stadium on June 11.
They will then move to Johannesburg for the second Test at EllisPark on June 18 and will play the third and final Test in Port Elizabeth at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on June 25.

2 @ smallies:
Congratulations to you and the young man.
It’s a massive honour to have kids that carry one’s family name to such heights.
I’m sure he will do brilliantly at the comp’.
Now, how the hell does EP Rugby carry the immense schoolboy and youth talent that is so obviously in the Kings catchment area (Border, SWD, EP) into the senior structures.
IF they ever manage to get that right, they will once again become a decent force in SA Rugby.
@ Scrumdown:
Die talent hier in die oos kaap is skrikwekkend baie as die op hulle jnr talent kan behou sal hulke amok maak
