Bulls trying now… but only 2 minutes left.

    Rebels lineout …

    119 @ Scrumdown:
Once again thanks for doing the next game for us, Mr Kempies!

  • 123

    @ grootblousmile:
You hit the nail on the head. Bulls have a fitness issue.

  • 124

123 @ Scrumdown: Mind you, it must be damn difficult to play in that heat at 3 in the afternoon.

  • 125

Hooter goes, Rebels almost score again…

Game over… no bonus point for the Bulls!!

  • 126

    122 @ grootblousmile:Pleasure.

Keeps me away from the office. (And pub!)

    Final Score: Vodacom Bulls (28) 45 / 25 (3) Melbourne Rebels

One of the worst games of rugby so far in the Super Rugby competition of 2016.

  • 128

    A tale of 2 halves.

Well done to the Rebels to come back strongly.

  • 129

I’m not even going to bother with the after match press conference…

Bad 2nd half by the Bulls against a pathetic Rebels side!!

  • 130

OK folks… I am going to slowly mosey my way outa here and home… to be in time for the Sharks / Jaguares game.

  • 131

The log points earned in this game just highlights the fact thst the Stormers must have a disproportionate influence on Super Rugby. How can you justify no bonus points for tries in a game where 10 were scored yet last week a bonus point for tries was earned in a game where only 3 tries were scored??? I-see-stars Andy Marinos…

  • 132

The Bulls were not good. It’s not the tries scored thats the problem, any half decent team would have done the same. It is the tries that they allowed in thats the real problem. An awful second half.

If your team leads by 6 tries to 0 and end up not getting a Bp you can’t blame the Stormers or Marinos

    @ nortie:
Hi nortie just last week you joked about it. But it sounds like you are happy with the changes to the bonus point system. Maybe if I supported a team that had a water tight defence and very seldom scored more than 3 tries in a match I would too but I doubt it, guess it depends on your rugby philosophy; mine has become a preference for an attacking one.

  • 135

    @ Bullscot:
It is what it is, we can’t really do anything about it.
My personal preference would be 1 for 4 tries, 2 for 8 tries etc.
But in this case, you should lay the blame in front of your team, they blew it.

  • 136

    @ nortie:
We scored 6 tries and won by 20 points would hardly call that blowing it. Also used to think along those lines as your one of being able to get more than 1 BP but now this year started thinking if they want to penalise a team scoring 4 tries (that is an effect of the change since last season) then maybe you only get a bonus point for 4 tries or more if you win the game or if you lose by 5 or 7 points or less something like that and make that the only way you can get a bonus point for losing.

  • 137

Happy with the win. Credit to the bp system that awards both tries and defense… A good win is nice to start

  • 138

    136 @ Bullscot:
They didn’t blow the game, the final margin and amount of tries they scored is irrelevant, they were 6 tries ahead and couldn’t win by 3 or more.
Even if you want your team to be attack orientated, they still need to be able to defend as well.
    The players know the rules.

Good win. Bulls played real rugby the first half. This Bulls team will only get better to the end of the season. Odendaal & Serf better combination.
